I loved this Starbucks until about a week ago. As we know, the governor of MD has lifted the mask mandate. Twice now, once a week ago and once today, the staff has requested that I wear a mask when picking up or ordering inside. Mind you, this is a corporation. Corps follow state laws where their located, only private businesses can make their own rules. The staff very rudely yelled “MASK!” At me when I walked in, Then in a snarky manner referred to the sign on the door stating “it is required by the state to wear a mask in public places and to maintain social distancing”. I informed them of the mandate being lifted, and Starbucks corporation making the decision that as of May 17th, masks would be optional for customers and also brought up the fact that I’m fully vaccinated. They didn’t care and repeated that I need a mask. I said no thanks, grabbed my mobile order and told them to have a nice day. I’ve filed a formal complaint to corporate, corporate did agree with all the points that I’ve brought up and apologized for my unsatisfactory experience and assured me this location would be dealt with then credited my account $15 for the inconvenience. Read moreThis is a regular pickup spot for me and I am usually All Stars for this location. However, today was a different day. I went in to pick up my order and I accidentally spilled my drink. I asked the young lady behind the counter if she had anything that I could use to help clean it up. She literally looked at me and rolled her eyes. She did absolutely nothing and said nothing. One thing that I am fully aware of, as I walked into the location,, is that it is a busy time. But acknowledgment would have been perfect versus you looking at me as though I just made you upset. Her name tag had the letter A as the first initial of her name. A young lady with braids in her hair. I am not pleased with your service and I'm not pleased with the way that you handled this situation. However, Cobie was absolutely amazing. Yes he was busy but he also made sure to take the time out to acknowledge me and made sure that I had what was needed to clean up my mess. I insisted that I cleaned it up. I had the pleasure to work with a person by the name of Sophie, it was a quick interaction, but a pleasant one. She not only gave me a great suggestion on PSL and a Blueberry Muffin (Yes I am basic, so sue me! lol). But the part that was very kind was that she went out of her way to bring me the muffin when it was done. It was a simple act, but with the week I have had with my phone needing to be fixed(why I am in the area), car repairs and everything else that comes with life, that simple act was very much needed.
So thank you Sophie, sincerely.
