Terrible Experience--Don't Care to Return My husband & I went to Vanderbilt's on Oct. 21st for me to purchase a pair of boots. They didn't have my size so the girl (Morgan) said they could check to see which store had my size. Salina had one pair & so they were going to have them sent to Wamego for me. I was then notified by phone on Wed. evening (Oct. 24th) that I wasn't going to get the boots due to another customer wanting them ( that had inquired about them on Oct. 18th). Shelby offered to order me a pair from the company. I didn't understand the confusion and thought the story was odd. I then called Salina & talked to Lisa & she told me the boots accidentally got shipped to Hays. I then told her what Shelby told me so she called Wamego & talked with a guy (Garrett) I believe. Lisa asked (Garrett) about someone else wanting the boots, he told her there was no one else. Lisa then offered to have me pay for the boots & ship them to my house. I didn't feel she should have to pay for shipping due to Wamego's error. So I agreed to have her get a hold of Hays & send the boots to Wamego & I'd go Wamego on Sat. Oct 27th to pay & pick them up. I called Wamego on Sat. they said they had the boots so I told the girl I'd be right over. I was leaving Manhattan & Brad the Manager called me & he was VERY RUDE to ME & told me I could't have the boots they were spoken for. I said Really? Then I tried to talk to him, he just cut me off , talked over me & said they already have a order into the company for me. I am in disbelief that the employees made up a lie and the manager did to. No employee contacted Salina on the 18th. I believe it was a mistake that the employee forgot to call & didn't know what to do...if that even happened. I do not want to do business with Wamego Vanderbilt's if they think it's okay to treat customers like this!! My husband, family & I have purchased boots & other stuff there before & didn't have any problems. This is just unacceptable!! I hope the owners take time to fix this...
Read moreLet me start by saying this is hands down the worst retail experience that i have ever had. I am in the retail business and would not dream of giving my customers this type of treatment. I ordered a pair of Justin boots from this store because they beat an online price i had of 271.00 from a different retailer for 255.00 plus tax. I wanted to support my local retailer. I also purchased 4 pairs of boots that night for my children and spent almost 200.00 on them. After 2 weeks I was called last night to come and pick them up and pay for them. I whent over there last night and the clerk brought them out and said they were 449.95! I said there must be a mistake. I ordered a oair of boots for 255.00 not 449.95. she said she would call the owner. I was standing right next to her and she repeated back what he told her on the phoe which was " so try and get 320 but the lowest we can go is 300? ok ill tell him" . She hangs up the phone and says exactly that. I was blown away. I almost thought she forgot i was standing right next to her the whole time. I politely told her I thought they should honor the price I was quoted when i ordered them. She said no so i asked her to call the owner and let them have one more shot at retaining the customer. she said that 255.00 was what cost was on it but they wouldnt go any lower no matter what. I point blank asked her if her boss was willing to lose a good local customer over $20.00 and he saidd yes. I promptly left the store to the amazement of several guests that were waiting on the clerk shocked that they wouldnt honor the price that was written on the order note. I will never do business here again and buyers beware of these shrewd tactics and let downs in the buying process. i will also write a letter to the editor with the...
Read moreAsked for help regarding boot sizing, all three employees very clearly didn't want to do it. Then when the manager got one to do it, she spent maybe 5 second lining it up and then told me I was a size 9 because my toe was on the 9 line. I'm not genius, but I'm pretty sure you want some wiggle room in your boots. I had to try on about 15 pairs of boots before I could find a pair that actually fit. Don't advertise that your employees will help when they really don't.
In response to you're response, then why even bother putting up multiple fliers stating to ask for help with sizing, also the whole reason I needed help is because boots come in a variety of widths that I don't fully understand. 9 isn't the only measurement on that contraption, that employee did a half ass job, no wonder my mother in law said Vanderbilt isn't what it used to be. No...
