Allegheny Outfitters Outdoors Store — Local services in Warren

These folks are very nice and friendly. However friendliness and deliverables are two very different things.

I booked with their shuttle service weeks in advance. We have our own equipment and Allegheny Outfitters were going to drive my vehicle from Kinzua dam to the Buckaloons where we camp. The day we were leaving I get a message they need to cancel my shuttle because the Allegheny is flooded. Flooded is excellent for my canoe, which is powered and uses a prop.

Allegheny Outfitters was booked well in advance for a simple (but critical in our plans) service: drive my transport vehicle to our destination. That driver isn't impacted by the river status.

I had to hurry up and try to find another service, so far I have not but am hoping on Uber to come through. I am deaf so Allegheny Outfitters doing it by email was great, but very difficult to find another service in 1 days notice. Allegheny Outfitters themselves requires at least a weeks notice (they gave me less than 48 hours notice).

Allegheny Outfitters are the go to outfitters for any of your river needs. We have been using their services for 4 years now for our annual Allegheny River trip. Their personal car shuttle where they pickup your car at your put in location and drive it to your takeout location is ALWAYS perfect! During one of our trips we even had a hole develop in our personal canoe partway down the river, Allegheny Outfitters went out of their way to help us... they stored our broken canoe, set us up with a rental canoe (at an amazing discount) and had us back on our way down the river in no time at all. We really wish all outfitters on all rivers would use Allegheny Outfitters as a model of how an outfitter should be! We love that everyday you post on facebook about current and forecasted river conditions, keeping their customer safe is their number one priority and we cannot say how much we appreciate this! We were very happy with Allegheny Outfitters. Their staff is helpful and friendly. The on-line booking process was very easy. Their shuttle vans are very nice and their store is awesome. Its also right next to a craft brewery which is nice. We rented a canoe for a day trip from the Kinzua Dam back to their shop in Warren PA - approx 8mi. While they had it as a 4hr paddle, the river had nice flow and we made the trip in about 2hrs. paddling at an easy recreational pace. The scenery is great we saw 2 eagles, king fishers, many ducks and other wildlife. The only minor drawback is the constant sound of traffic from Rt 59 which parallels Allegheny River. The last mile of the trip into Warren passed by United Refining which was not scenic yet interesting in a different way. We also liked the short minor rapids in this area. We enthusiastically recommend Allegheny Outfitters. We will be back to try other day trips and perhaps...
