I was fortunate enough to get a chance to tour Jaffal Chocolates’ production space and learn about his bean roasting and chocolate making process. He talked us through every part of the (long) process, from the moment he receives the beans to the tempering and pouring of the chocolate bars. He is incredibly intentional in all that he does- from selecting the farmers and distributors he works with to partnering with a local artist to create his beautiful and meaning-filled packaging design. There is no question that his chocolate bars are absolutely delicious (our favorite being the 80% from the Philippines), but what stood out to me almost as much as the quality of the chocolate, is how much time, dedication, and care that Gassan puts into his products. Read moreI found Jaffal’s Chocolates at Farm Fresh’s market just 2 weeks ago and I wasn’t able to walk away without their hazel nut chocolate butter spread. So much better than Nutella. If you’re a dark chocolate lover, you’d love their chocolate bar options as they specialize in it. 70% dark with sea salt is addicting omg.
