Sorry for the long post. I felt I had to comment about my recent experience. I have spent thousands of dollars in this store and Marshall’s/Home Goods. Generally, I have always loved shopping here. Great finds. Nice staff. This time, not so much! I had 4 items I had to return. I knew they were past 30 days. I told her I had been ill for weeks and my father was recently diagnosed with a very aggressive illness. I had the receipt for 2 items and could not find the receipt for the other 2 that I bought together. For the 2 that I could not find the receipt for, she commented about the tags not being attached and said she would make an exception to return 1 of the items but not the other. I would have to try & find the receipt or take it back to the other store where I bought it. I assured her that they were not worn and that I had personal matters I was tending to which is why I could not return them in 30 days. Was a little embarrassed that I felt I had to explain. No big deal. I’ll find the receipt & take it back to the Jenkintown store where I got it. (which I did). The next item, I had my receipt/tags attached and she returned it as store credit. The last item, I had the receipt/tags attached. She told me the tag did not match the item description. I told her that I didn’t know what she was talking about. She said the description for the tag was not for this item. Again, I told her I don’t know what you mean. The tag matched my receipt. She showed me the tag and pointed to where it attaches as if I switched the tags and tried to return it. I told her that I would never do such a thing. She said that she would make an exception to return it. Make an exception for what? As if I was trying to do something illegal. I told her that if the tag attached was for a different item that it was the stores mistake not mine. She made no comment. Walked away. No apology. Nothing. Meanwhile the line had grew and there were several customers behind me at this point hearing the conversation. I never felt so embarrassed/humiliated. I was treated like a criminal. Big mistake! I will not be returning to this...
Read moreI will not return to this store again. I completely understand that they get their credits for getting people to sign up for the credit card. I had a purchase of $16 and some change and was hounded by not one but TWO employees at the register to get the credit card. Even if I did, the 10% would have saved me $1.60, which wouldn’t be worth it whatsoever to me. I continuously said no, I’m not interested, not today, no thank you, and the woman continued to tell me how worth it the card is and why I NEED to sign up for it. When someone says no MORE than two times, that means NO. I’ve never been made so uncomfortable in a TJ Maxx. They almost tried to make me feel bad for not getting it which is unacceptable. Do better, this is not...
