If I could give this location ZERO stars I would. As a former employee here, there are many things you should know about the management if seeking employment a) I was misled as I was seeking a fulltime "cashier" position. I was told I would work just for a few days within the dining room to have a full understanding of how Panera worked. They told me that was their reasoning for floating me around and that within the mean time I would train on the register using an online training course and would be fully on the register after four days of working in the dining room. This is not true. They had me working in dining room almost everyday and then every other day the entirety of a month and told me that it would be a rotation throughout every week. When I expressed my concern due to an ankle problem and the interest in strictly being a cashier-- afterall that is what I applied for and expressed interest in the GM, John B. told me sorry, oh well, everyone has to do them, that I would need a doctors note and that he would see if he could train me on something else but nevertheless wouldn't check in on me to see how I was or follow up and through on having me do something else afterall he was the one to mislead me a month prior within my interview. I also would work 6.5-7.5 hr shifts in the dining room and was told that I was required to take a break even if I was over the age of 18. The days came where I needed a break and was not given any. When I asked for a break and to see if anyone would cover me I was told sure if you want to but no one is going to cover you. Mind you, this is a position they only schedule one person for but often requires two or more to make a difference in the quality of service and quality of working. They schedule one person to do everything (bus, clean, vaccum, make drinks, coffee every hour, sanitize wipe down, fill and sort etc). within the dining room and outside. B) I was told that If I were to be sick and need to call out pertaining to illness that I should and need to call out because it is a restaurant and that they do not want or need anyone else getting sick (both customers and employees) Surprise, surprise when I got sick ONE time I called a few hours in advanced to give them time to find a replacement they told me they already had someone else call out and so therefore they would not be accepting any more call outs, I had to explain that I was sick and contagious and that it didn't matter that someone else called out the same morning because of what I was told within my interview. C) Employee discounts are bogus. I was shopping in the center one day and thought I would go to panera for lunch and was told that I was not on the schedule that day so therefore I would not have access to my employee discount -- mind you that was not at all said at the interview and job offer. Infact I was told that anytime, as an employee I would receive an employee discount. I ended up paying for my sodas that day because I was told that since I was not on the schedule that day to give me a soda for free would be a form of theft by Michael one of the four managers at the Warrington location. So finally I give my weeks notice and basically my second to last day arrives and i work 7.5 hours NBD, I'm driving home and receive a voicemail saying that they found someone to replace me for my last shift on my last day. Keep in mind I'm well and able to work this shift and said I needed the hours - this is a fulltime position. Felix and Kate two of the four managers there decided to call me AFTER work that day instead of actually speaking to me about giving my last shift away in person. It's not professional to give someone's shifts away without their knowledge and especially someone who is fininshing out their fulltime employment with notice!! You should avoid this location due to how management is run if you are looking...
Read moreSeveral weeks ago, I stopped into Panera. There was a sign on the door that said, "Minors must be accompanied by an adult." As I ordered my food on the kiosk, the manager approached a group of individuals waiting for food which they'd paid ahead for and were taking out. She asked them to leave, as she believed they were under 18. They politely explained that they had paid for food and would leave when they received it, and from my perspective, they were doing nothing wrong - they were waiting quietly at a table and chatting. One of them actually offered to present her ID to prove that she was, in fact, an adult. The manager did not care about this fact and began insisting that the sign meant they must be accompanied by a parent, not an adult. They got their food and left.
One of the employees behind the counter then suggested that the manager may have been out of line. A short discussion was had, which I witnessed, where the manager said to the employee verbatim: "I don't care, this is my store and I make the rules." None of this - the interaction, the attitude, the way she spoke to her employees - sat right with me. I got home and had a discussion on the phone with the manager, during which she made it clear that just like her employees' opinions, mine also were not valued. Nevermind the fact that there were three high school girls at a table by the door chatting loudly who were allowed to remain at the restaurant despite these strict rules. I brought this up and was again dismissed. I actually called to speak with a district manager, but they never returned my call, so I won't be back to Panera at all. I've since driven by on my way to Ulta, and the sign has been changed to say "Parent" instead of "Adult," so the manager has done the bare minimum to skirt the issue. I felt it was discriminatory that she chose to enforce an arbitrary rule on one group of people and not another. I gave two stars because despite the quality of management, the food tasted good and did not poison me. I'm a...
Read moreDear GM Stefanie, I’m not going to keep tipping on take out orders if there is consistently something wrong or missing with my order. I always try to give extra when I can but the past several times that I have picked up a take out order something is wrong or missing. This morning I ordered a pick two for my lunch to go for work. This is the second time where the apple chips in the Fuji apple chicken salad were soft as if the salad had been premade. The mac & cheese was barely full :( and the chocolate chip cookie was literally rock hard. Like no way to eat it without microwaving it. Which just tells me it was probably an old cookie. I looked on the bag to see if it had an expiration date, and there was none. If I could post a picture of would. It was not crowded or busy at the time that I went. Therefore, it’s very disheartening that your employees cannot take the time to slow down and fill the orders properly. Please take more time to oversee the quality of the orders that are being packed...
