I’m not one to write negative reviews, especially when the incident was around the holidays which is obviously very stressful for retail workers. However, this incident still really leaves a bad taste in my mouth so I feel I must comment for future events. I was asked by my father who is stationed in another state to go pick up an order of a ping pong table for my brothers Christmas gift. This was a couple weeks before Christmas so the store was of course busy. I went in so they didn’t have to come out to me. Customer service was very sweet and she asked for them to bring it out for me. The manager walkied in and asked what I was driving, I said a Jeep grand Cherokee. They then proceeded to tell me that unfortunately it wouldn’t fit and that they only allow vans or trucks to take them. I understood. I left and looked up the dimensions of the product box on the website. It would fit in my jeep with plenty of room to spare so I happily went back to inform them that I had measured and everything was good to go! Well, I was then again met with refusal by the manager to give it to me. I kindly explained that I had measured and per the website it should fit perfectly fine. She then got very short and patronizing with me and explained “sweetie I’ve been doing this a long time”. To which I asked for accurate measurement of the box since I didn’t have immediate access to a truck and would have to ask around. She refused and told me to go rent a u-haul to get it home. I was agitated that I was being denied a product I had paid for, since I had also wasted my whole day on it at this point. I ended up finding a friend to go back the next day and pick up the box. It was small. It fit in my jeep with plenty of room to spare (6” or so on the side). So although she had “been doing this for awhile” please don’t be so quick to dismiss a customer. I gave the customer service rep all of my information and where she could find the discounted price. After being put on hold for a good 20 minutes I was told they cannot honor the sale price but they can do the regular price. I I told the lady that it wasn’t a true price match but continued on she said OK and when I asked how much it came to she told me a number that was a lot higher I asked why and she gave me a reason because that’s the price I was told. I then tried to go through the math with her and she started getting aggravated with me because my math came out significantly less. I then asked to talk to a supervisor I was put on hold for a good 10 minutes and began talking to Morgan she went through the steps with me kept placing me on hold and I was told because that’s the price when I Astor how she got that number She placed me on hold again and then told me that that was the number she could do and when I went through the math with her she told me to hold on and her answer was because when you add the items to their cart we just simply take money off rather than giving you...
Read moreA huge thanks to the Warwick Dicks bike department! Bought a kids bike from Dicks in North Attleboro and a brake part broke somehow early into my kid riding the bike. Brought the bike to Dicks in Warwick as it was closer to our home and I work in the city. We were helped by a man, Robert in the bikes department. He asked if we purchased the bike from there or the extended warranty which we hadn’t. He then put the bike on the stand and discovered what was broken. He tried a similar part but it didn’t work right, he then spent some time rummaging through a few drawers and was able to find the correct part and fixed the bike. He also went through all the nuts and bolts, air pressure etc. double checking everything. I would give this employee 10 stars if I could. Old school service, very knowledgeable, polite, professional and helpful. He didn’t need to do anything but went out of his way to help.
