I have lived in Rhode Island for many years. I have been to many salons and stylists but could never find the right fit for me. I was searching for someone who would listen to me and not take a drastic approach to cut and color when drastic was not what I was looking for. My daughter stumbled upon an excellent stylist at Jon Richard Salon in East Greenwich named Aree Silk. Aree is very talented, dedicated, knowledgeable and up to date in her field! She takes her time to fully understand ones needs and proceeds at the clients pace. I have never left a salon so happy with my haircut and color! I have referred several people to her..all satisfied customers! The salon is clean, bright and professional. The staff is welcoming and awesome! I was made to feel like an important client during my last vist with Aree. I would like to give a special shout out to Michelle another stylist who was there at my last visit. My hairdresser was nice but I only wanted a quick even cut not a bunch of upcharges like shampoo and blow out I never asked for and was pressured into and ended up paying $70+ for the simplest cut and I wouldn't have even left a review but after inspection the cut was so uneven! she spent more time trying to chat and do a blowout than the actual cut. Barely made sure it was even on both sides so now there is chunks of hair that are uneven. I got better service at super cuts for half the price. At least super cuts made sure it was even. And then decided to pressure me into taking pictures which I was super uncomfortable with but I just wanted to get out. I have curly hair and the struggle is real. Aree has done an amazing job helping me grow out and re-shape my curls. I have thick hair and different textures/curl patterns on the top vs the under part of my hair. She has helped me get my bouncy curls back!! Aree is great with color as well - in fact I originally came in to see her on a recommendation for highlights because the last few places I had tried did not lift the color enough and left me super brassy/orange.
