Stay Away From Retailers that Do Not Value Customers!! That being said, this market does Not value their customers one little bit. When I arrived, I clipped some digital coupons. After shopping, I paid, but stood there and looked at my sales slip as it seemed too much. The digital coupons were not deducted. I told the woman who bagged my groceries, who looked and informed me that the Customer Service was only open until 7pm. Another employee overheard and asked me when I downloaded the digital coupons. I had done that when entering the market. She said it had to be done at least one hour prior if done on a cell phone. I asked where that was posted, there was no answer. At that point I asked to return the items as I hadn't left the register. Respone was they can't do that. So, I guess it's up to me to go back another day, and wait in line to return the items. Doesn't make me feel valued, not even a little bit. I guess I've just gotten spoiled by shopping at Aldi and Trader Joe's. I got used to being valued as a customer. I have no plans to shop at a market that i feel steals customers funds by enforcing unpublished rules they whip up at will.

They sometimes have good deals but I've found that smaller, more personable stores with less overhead offer better quality items at a lower price. I will NEVER get anything from the deli, as the majority of employees have NO idea on how to slice things THIN! Alas, the ONLY thing I purchase from Stop & Shop with any degree of regularity is their own ice-cream, which occasionally offers some spectacular and unique flavors, if only on a limited-time basis. Equally unimpressive are the quality of their veggies and meats, the former being mostly genengineered (genetically modified) and not locally grown, and the latter being tough and without flavor in almost every instance. Cashiers seem to be more interested in talking to their neighbor at the next register than actually paying attention to the customer before them and lines for checkout are ridiculously long at peak hours. Read moreI was at self checkout with my mother and some chocolate wasn’t scanning because the barcode wasn’t working so obviously the light went so an employee came. We showed where we got the chocolate which was right by the register and we explained it wasn’t scanning at all and that’s the reason the light came on. He legit acted like we were going to steal the candy and instead of scanning the candy into the checkout he went to look up the candy in another aisle. He made my mother and I feel like he was racially profiling us and I encourage POC to carry their phones and stream live whether it be TikTok or Youtube while in this stop and shop. I won’t be going back there unless he’s no longer working. 11/19/20 The man who did it was tall, white and young.
