Audio Etc... — Local services in Washington Township

Great people and a great place to buy you audio system! Kirby and his staff could not of been more courteous and helpful to my wife and I. Our daughter lives in Kettering and we live 3 hours away (New Philadelphia) where really the closest audio store was an hour away. Did some searching online for the local audio stores in Dayton since we would be traveling to see our daughter. Found Audio etc... had all the brands that I was considering for my next system. Talked to Kirby on the phone beforehand to set up an appointment for when we would be in the area as we had a limited amount of time to spend at his store. Plan on at least several hours as Kirby was a wealth of knowledge and had just as many questions for us as we had for him. Kirby really listened to what we wanted out of a system as far as sound, where the system would be placed and what type of music we enjoyed listening to. I had not bought new equipment for a good 20 years so I had ALOT of questions. Over the next week Kirby and I talked via the phone and email to narrow down my choices, all the while Kirby kept giving suggestions as to what would work and more importantly sound the best for what I was looking to spend. On our next trip down I had decided on the system I wanted, but just couldn't decide on the speakers. Kirby had the system I was going to buy wired up and ready to test speakers when we arrived. Kirby had the actual turntable with upgraded cartridge, integrated amp and CD player along with the speaker wire and a/v cables that I would be buying set up and ready to test speakers. We had brought some of our own vinyl records to test. Three hours later (Yes we listened to speakers for THREE hours!) I left still undecided. Kirby and I talked the next morning and I gave him my decision on what I wanted. Picked the system up several hours later on our way home. The system once hooked up in our house sounded exactly as it did in his showroom. Could not be happier with what we bought. We truly feel we got the most bang for our buck! Kirby and his staff made our buying experience enjoyable and we cannot recommend Audio etc... highly enough!

Update: Since buying my original system from Kirby over the past year I have upgraded from an integrated amp to a preamp/amp setup and also just recently upgraded my speakers along with several new cables for the system. Kirby and his staff as before were just awesome to deal with!!...

I can’t begin to say enough positive things about Audio Etc… and Kirby and his staff. I bought an Adcom power amp and my first pair of Vandersteen speakers from Kirby way back in 1991 when the store was across from Wright State in Fairborn. That gear lasted me over 30 years! Recently when I caught “the bug” I went in to audition a new pair of Vandersteen Treo CTs. Kirby set them up in a listening room of approximately the same dimensions as my listening space at home, using a similarly powered NAD amp, and let me audition them for nearly 4 hours … twice. He hooked me up with Brad at Vandersteen to discuss other details on the product. I chatted with him about other parts of my system and he gave excellent recommendations, with no pressure. I ended up buying the speakers with a custom finish, a large screen OLED TV, new turntable/cartridge, universal remote, and power conditioning and cabling. What an upgrade! The installation went seamlessly, and when a small flaw in the speaker finish was noticed upon unboxing in my home, Kirby was on the phone to Vandersteen immediately. He absolutely has the best interests of the customer in mind. This also goes for Sean, who went the extra mile in custom programming of my remote; Theresa, who ably handles all the details of purchase; and Cindy, who keeps everything humming. I’ve been a customer for over 30 years, and don’t plan on changing. Highly recommended for all your home...

I bought a very nice cary amp, when I started to have problems with the amp Kirby and the folks at Audio Etc bent over backwards to go out of their way to help me. I have nothing but great things to say about the sales and service after the sale 😀

This is a updated review...I purchased another home audio system from Audio Etc, Kirby spent a long time with me explaining the difference between the different systems and made sure I was getting the best fit for me. BTW I'm just loving it. Everytime I turn on my new Marantz it makes me smile 😁 Thanks to all the great people at Audio Etc I will definitely be back

4/2/2024 new update .. Recently went back to see Kirby and the folks at audio etc. I had been wanting some vandersteen speakers for a very long time and Kirby took the time setting up appointments to let me compare the different speakers in different rooms and even having me bring my own amp in hook up to the speakers to see exactly how it would sound. Kirby took the time and patience to sit there with me and my wife and my brother-in-law while we listen to music seem like for over well over an hour. Playing different genres of music. It was a great experience all the way around. My family was thoroughly impressed. Thanks to Kirby and the gang Now I'm dreaming of my...
