Harbor Freight — Local services in Washington Township

We went to buy compressor attachments that was part of a birthday gift. That day the cashier who took care of us was happy, friendly and gave us some good information about what they offer. Unfortunately, that night we were expecting a delivery for a compressor which again failed to keep their second date. We talked about it and canceled our order since we were leaving in a day and a half so we looked through the paper from Harbor Freight and found a bigger/better compressor. The next day was when we were leaving so we took another trip to Harbor Freight and looked at all the compressors before picking one out for a couple dollars more but had so many nicer/better options. The couple men we talked to that were working the floor were so nice and spent time showing us a couple we had missed. Great customer service and on this day, we had a different cashier but like the 1st, she was friendly and talked/joked with us again. Great customer service for both the cashiers on the 2 different days we went there. The other company has lost us as customers because Harbor Freight was amazing and treated you well. At Harbor Freight you have to know what to look for. They offer great deals on a plethora of components and tools that are hard to best anywhere, even online. And some of these wares I would even rate as professional quality. That being said Harbor Frieght is a discount, high volume, big box store. The multitude of often Chinese made products they offer also contains a few items that are junk. Stuff that's not worth the trouble; being unreliable or poor quality. High speed tools, impact proven sockets, and the chinsier metal framed presses are suspect to me sometimes though I've witnessed high volume use of Pittsburgh wrenches and sockets without fail. I do really like the 3 tier product offering lineups Harbor Frieght sells like the Chicago Electric line, Titanium line, and Vulcan line of welders. I picked up a Vulcan Migmax 215 and can honestly say it's a great 200A mig machine. All in all Harbor Frieght is cheap, but if you use some discretion it can be a great source for the hobbyist and even for some professional...

I don't expect a lot from customer service. I don't need a smile or asking about my day. All I need is for my stuff to be scanned and my money taken. That apparently is to much to ask. I was here around 6pm on 8/7. The woman behind the counter was the slowest human being I have seen. She drops the scanner and doesn't even bend to get it, just slowly pulls it by the cord. Scans 3 of my five items and gives me a total. I have to remind her that these large boxes on the counter that were not there 3mins ago, are also mine. She then starts talking to the other very useless guy working there, he was just slowly walking around the front doing a lazy job to look busy, about some guy that was trying to return something that was too old. Which just added to the time I was left there standing, waiting. I mean, if she has like a thyroid problem or something... fine.
