We placed 2 breakfast platters to go. I was very thorough in placing the order with the âownerâ Jeanie. My girlfriend and I had her on speaker phone and repeatedly explained what we would like. She repeated it back incorrectly and we corrected her. I went to pick the order up, returned home trusting I had a complete order. One platter was not there and the other platter was missing the breakfast sausage. I called them to explain, Jeanie was very rude and did not care that the order was incorrect. I explained that I lived 15 minutes away and we werenât going to be able to eat the food. Could she remake it so we could eat our breakfast together. She refused. Her tone was very nasty. I told her donât worry about remaking it, I would come in for a refund, she hung up on me. We drove back to the Whitman Diner which is 15 minutes away to see Jeanie. I asked her how could I eat food that was 1) made incorrectly 2) now cold and 3) missing items that I paid for. She replied in a very nasty tone âWe donât give back money.â She was looking at us with a very sour face and as if we were beneath her. I explained to her that we patronize her restaurant frequently with doctors and corporate staff she said she didnât care and then began to ignore us like we werenât even standing there. It was a measly $24 order. Itâs not about the money itâs about the principal. As a professional working in the customer service industry you should always take responsibility for your mistakes and treat people equally! She said in a snarky tone that she was the manager and the owner and there was no one above her that we could speak with. I left very upset about how I was treated and I honestly...
Read morePros: looked clean. Had pumpkin pancakes with my son ( 4 year old). We both loved them. The syrup was a nice touch. Usual dinner large morning sausage, and bacon. The waiter was quick , polite, and professional. Was around 12:30. Not busy. Staffed well. Cons: was a pretty good visit, but there were a few minor things. They up charge for the pumpkin flavoring $1.99 for each dish. So didn't care for that. The parking lot was littered with dead bugs, kind of trashy looking. The parking lot is awkward shape, so be careful of people coming in quickly. Music was slightly high, but I would rather that than bunch of TVs.
Update: 4/1/22 Pros : Food was very tasty. Chocolate pancakes are good and the Tuscany Omlette ( not spicy) was great. Clean , good service, recommend Peter. Sliverware wrapped in a package marked sanitized, for those worried .
Cons: change in hours caught me off guard. They are only 8am to 3pm. Closed Mondays .So in Jersey, calling your business a diner and having odd hours , doesn't make since. More of a Cafe. So only lunch and breakfast. Prices are slightly higher than normal. Spent $48 just for family of 3. Before tip. $3 for coffee kind of high. Bathroom wasn't so nice. Still have a bar area , not being used.
Not sure what the owner is trying to accomplish, but I hope they do well. Pretty sure they upset some usuals with the new business hours. Torn on this one.
All and all , I would maybe go there if in area " before 3pm. I'm Beef and that's...
Read moreWe got here at 11 all tables except 3 were full but also all food was out. Just so you understand the atmosphere we walked into. My boyfriend ordered a meatball parm sandwich and I got an ABLT no for what it's worth I know I'm a pain in the ass and picky. Irregardless I asked for no tomatoes cucumbers instead as raw tomato and I do not agree and I also asked for iceberg lettuce because in my pompous opinion (lol) iceberg add a much needed moisture and crunch to a BLT that is very much needed. Our food did not take long to come out maybe 10 mins at most. First impression is they look very good however no iceberg here ok that's fine. Bacon đ„ was super crispy which I loved however the avocado was mush not smashed like too over ripe for me and instead of the cook/chef cutting a fresh cucumber that would fit on the sandwich they were very noticeably picked from the salad bar. These massive chunks did not fit on the sandwich or even stay in the sandwich, I ended up wearing 3 pieces. Just a bit lazy. I do have to note the meatball parm sub was 5â tender flavor full and not to much sauce and the roll did its job perfectly. Moral of story Wawa does a better BLT any day for 1/3 the price but that meatball sub was...
