So we finally decided to give the Popeyes chicken sandwich a go. To make it fair we stopped and picked up a number 1 meal from Chick-fil-A and the chicken sandwich meal from Popeyes nothing added and skipped the mayo on the Popeyes sandwich. Both medium sized and unsweetened iced tea. Here goes - overall winner Popeyes (we all agreed) breakdown of comparisons Packaging ( Popeyes - nice handled nag to hold everything), iced tea (Popeyes- larger medium sized drink - though CFA had a slightly stronger tea flavor), fries (this was no contest, hands down, Popeyes. Plenty of crispy Cajun fries vs waffle mush), sandwich - pickles were dramatically different Popeyes were crispy with a distinct pickle flavor were CFA had softer pickles that seemed to flavor the while sandwich with a little pickle juice. Buns were both good, CFA extremely soft and tends to be a little saturated with butter, grease, pickle juice where the Pys stood up to the challenge a little more. The real difference is the chicken - Pys was more like a piece for crispy fried chicken, nice, tender, well done light golden color. CFA was darker with a thin coating and the meat was very moist and tender with that distinct CFA flavor. Both are great sandwiches and I could go either way. Two takes and they are both pretty darn good. BTW Popeyes did cost about $1 more which i thought was surprising, although you get more fries and...
Read moreI orders 3 meals and one of them was a mild 3 piece tender combo. The chicken was soggy, greasy and didn't have any of the crispy breading/batter that u expect from Popeyes. N they forgot to give us 3 straws. But the manager really handled it very well n was pleasant and apologetic about it, even tho I kinda was too hahahah. He hooked it up with 6 tenders and fresh fries too for waiting! N I taught my daughter to never settle in life for anything, and especially not when it comes to fried chicken! So big props to the manager at this location! But plz tell all your front line employees to stop saying "we can't give u that many sauces, sorry!", what they should be saying is "sure no problem, we CAN get u X amount of sauces, but u have to pay for all that aren't the 2 that are included with every meal and they are 25 cents each." If u just fixed this minor issue that is very common at damn near every Popeyes I've ever been to, I think the experience would be much better. But the end result is worth the little bitta sass and pessimistic attitude. But I'll continue to have a CAN do attitude and pay for them extra sauces! đ Actually I'll close with yal should really make dem s**ts free tho!!! Thank u for your fried chicken game...
Read moreFriendly staff, the food is always good.. there's usually a few minute wait for your order, but I have no problem waiting for food that's being cooked fresh to order, rather than getting my meal quickly because it's been sitting under heat lamps forever! It's always hot even after the 15 minute drive home. The biscuits are so good! My only complaint is I don't trust the iced tea, I poured a sips worth in my cup once to try it and see if I liked it, but looked down in my cup and saw a big piece of something white floating in it, maybe a big piece of paper, straw wrapper or something? Working in the restaurant/catering industry myself, I know how gross iced tea can taste if those large brew containers aren't cleaned properly and especially if they're just used to continuously brew tea in over and over without ever washing them and the nozzles.. I love sweet tea and would love to try theirs but after that I can only assume that thing doesn't get cleaned đ But otherwise the food keeps me...
