Winans Coffee & Chocolate — Restaurant in Washington Township

I live in Knoxville, TN. My husband and I were on our way home from vacation in the town of Bellbrook, Ohio, and we needed a great cup of coffee to get started on the long trip home. I Google'd coffee shops, and I seen "Chocolate and coffee" and hoped for the best!

I ordered 2 of your homemade muffins, and 2 large hot "Dirty Chai Latte" as that is almost always what we order. I like the DCL drinks, but it's never made perfectly, I'm always adding something to give it a more sweet taste....until now! This DCL was the most amazing drink ever!!!! I had NEVER ever had a better tasting cup than this in all the years I have been traveling, and drinking this!!!!

I ate my muffin which was just as amazing, but my husband didn't get around to eating his muffin until 2 days later, and it was still just as good, and moist as the day he bought it.

I'm not exactly picky when it comes to coffee and muffins, but every time I travel up north, this is an absolute must stop at place. I am so happy that it is right off the interstate, and easy to find.

Please don't ever close, or better yet, I know a great location you can open another coffee shop at!

Sorry I didn't take any pictures, but inside is very relaxing, gives you the home feeling away from home, and pictures would not do any justice anyhow! In fact, I could drive up there right now just for another great cup of your hot Dirty Chai Latte! Thank you...

I’m an essential healthcare worker during this time trying to support local and help my favorite places out. I ordered 1 lb of ground coffee for pick up. When I got home and opened my bag it was whole bean. I called Winans that same evening letting them know what happened. The woman on the phone sincerely apologized and told me to bring it back for them do grind. After work the next day I brought it to the drive thru and explained to the worker again what happened. She told me they cannot take it back to grind- understandable during this pandemic. Then she proceeded to explain they cannot trade it for what I ordered nor could they refund me/replace my order (fix their mistake). I asked her what the solution to this would be and she stated again there is nothing she could do and to grind it over at Dorthy Lane down the road. (A grocery store) Again, this is a pandemic so I doubt I am allowed to bring my own coffee in at this time. Finally, after she told me she will not do anything to fix this, I left. I will not be back to Winans and I will tell everyone about this poor customer experience. I guess I’ll be...

I use to be a huge fan of Winan's not only because it's local but I use to really enjoy their coffee but the last couple times I've visited the coffee is so flat and latte's taste more like warm milk than anything remotely coffee related. (Not just this location but multiple locations with this issue) Not only that but they're rewards program is all messed up. If I go to any different Winan's location it seems that the point from other stores don't transfer between stores so I've spent well over the 10 stars but for some reason I've been stuck at 7 for the longest time. It would be different if they told you "hey, our store is different than this one or whatever" but when I asked about the issues I'm just told "well it says you need 3 more for a free one" funny how it's been that for months but whatever I guess.
