I’ve been a customer at Bitter Grace since the end of 2020. I can’t rave about this store front enough. It’s modern, chic and welcoming. The decor and fit-out is AMAZING. What makes it more home is that the staff are attentive. So when you’re viewing their pieces they can explain the relationships built, intention and brand you maybe investing in. I’ve enjoyed the sustainable clothing I’ve bought for myself and gifted to others. I absolutely love their candles. I loved the soaps and the previous facial scrub they stocked. Hopefully they are restocked soon or find another partner. In addition, I’ve recently attended a high tea event with friends that was beautiful from the food, tea, wine and champagne selections. Lastly, this morning the owners allowed me to utilize the space for a photoshoot. I’m very thankful for that. It gave the feel and energy I was seeking to bring out. You won’t lose with Bitter Grace. I’m excited for the future of this space because it will continue to thrive and be successful. You’ll see I’ve attached photos of items a one of a kind jacket I bought for myself. A gift purchased for a friend, the high tea, space growth and photos I enjoyed taking because it’s an amazing space. I’ll add photos from my shoot later to inspire others to utilize Bitter Grace to its full potential like I have.

There are so many places to shop online but this online store is one of my favorite places to shop of all time! Bitter Grace Boutique has really positioned themselves to be a leader in the purposeful fashion market. I always feel great that a portion of my purchases are paid forward to organizations I believe in. For me, it's not JUST about the clothing per se but more about how the clothes make me feel. I've totally bought into what this company is doing and I'm a fan. Their brand and mission is spot on with my interests, and their social media is inspiring. I've loved everything I've ordered from this site - including the 'Cashmere Duster Cardigan' in camel + black, and the 'Lydia Wrap' in grey and tan. The clothes look great, they retain their shape well, and are so easy to travel with! 5+ stars.

Absolutely love this place. Bitter Grace has such a welcoming entrance with plants, greenery, candles and clothes. They value sustainability and they have some amazing pieces. I bought pistola denim jeans there that fit perfectly, which is usually hard for me to find. Also got a great candle that has rose quartz in it and makes my apartment smell so good. Everyone there was really nice and helpful. I even got a nice email a couple days after my purchase. They also host events such as a candle making class and I’m looking forward to future events. I’ll definitely be back to this gem of a place.

What a wonderful store! My partner loves fashion and is super particular with her style. I stumbled upon Bitter Grace when we were out to dinner one night, and I was happy to see how much my partner enjoyed shopping through the store. The owners were so kind to both of us, and helped my partner pick a dress from their new collection that they designed and manufactured. We felt so welcomed, and they even kept working with us well after the store had closed!

I also returned to Bitter Grace with my partner with anniversary gifts in mind. I could tell she was in love with this amazing blue sweater, and while she was browsing the owners helped me coordinate the purchase of the sweater without her even knowing. They even offered to wrap the sweater as a gift and hold it in the store until I could pick it up at a later time without her knowing. It is so hard to surprise my partner at this point, but Bitter Grace really made it possible for me to make our anniversary that much more special.

If you haven't stopped by this new store yet, I highly recommend it. My partner and myself are very passionate about sustainability, and all of the items offered in their store are sustainably and ethically made which is so refreshing to see. Bitter Grace really goes the extra mile to make sure that they are providing outstanding service to their customers, and the items in store are so special in comparison to what you would find in your typical corporate retail store. I am so happy to see Bitter Grace become apart of the DC community, and I am also interested in their other services like potentially booking a personal styling appointment for my partner as a gift...

Simply put, my personal styling experience with Anne Marie changed the trajectory of my life. I can’t overstate how transformative and profound my experience at Bitter Grace was. Anne Marie has a true gift – she was able to tap into who I am and more importantly, who I want to be, after one conversation over Zoom. She then pulled the most beautiful pieces of clothing for me to try on at my personal styling appointment in her store. My time with Anne Marie felt like catching up with an old friend – she made me feel so comfortable throughout the whole process. She set out a beautiful spread of fruit, cheese, wine and even played my favorite music (country) throughout my appointment.

What I especially loved about my appointment with Anne Marie is there was absolutely no pressure whatsoever – if I came out of the dressing room and didn’t love the way I felt in a particular piece of clothing, she didn’t try to convince me otherwise or try to change my mind. We simply moved on to the next outfit. I felt completely heard and understood the entire time.

I have made a friend for life in Anne Marie. Anne Marie, thank you for what you do – you gave me such a gift this year and I will always be so thankful.

If you’re reading this and looking for a sign as to whether you should book a personal styling appointment at Bitter Grace, this is your sign to...
