Currently here at Emery. I thought the homeless was bad but the staff and security are similar. There is no structure here. They grant favor to who you know. No way to work your way through the overflow unless you kiss up. The staff are confusing and powerless. They emotionalize with your situation and move and want you to chase sympathy. It's punitive here. They only know how to tell what not to do. Nothing beneficial comes from staff. Their not even on post at night knowing the high risk factors with homeless, addiction, mental illness etc. Security is new all guys less noise from majority women security just leaving. But seem to want to prove themselves. Other homeless guys who work in the overflow treat you life they're not homeless, like arrogant, attitude and animosity. No requirement for bed first come first serve. It's dirty stink guys on staff paid to clean don't often! You have to fight to get a bed, keep the feet under arm smell out of dorms. The homeless guys don't care not clean just want to eat sleep leave come back and do it Again next day. One staff member will tell you to do something another will tell you not. Then the homeless workers think they're staff no respect for overflow guys... it's just a sad case to have to stay here for any length of time. The facility is nice can be cleaner but folks have just put this in...

Most of the staff are still crack heads. They need to fired all of them with the exception of 4 of the staff. Female security acting like they have children in there like to scream and make videos of the homeless. The supervisor or manager needs to get that glass D out of her mouth. DHS needs to really investigate these people. Do not go there unless you institutionalize. People already have problems, and dealing with these people, you are likely to have a whole bunch more. They are dysfunctional hoodrats who just so happen to have a job at a shelter. The main problem is the female staff and top flight. Here you have an all male shelter, but you have man hating women who work there with personal issues against men taking it out on the homeless. Investigate these people before one of them get seriously hurt. You won't get a case manager or any grievances answer. They think their job is safe, but they will reap...
