An ideal place to bring kids who will be mesmerized watching planes take off and land right overhead. The views are incredible, and the experience of seeing planes so close is thrilling. There’s plenty of open space, making it perfect for a picnic, a game of catch, or just relaxing while the planes provide a unique show.

Parking can be a bit tricky, and the area does get crowded, especially on weekends, so it’s best to plan accordingly. But the experience is well worth it – few places offer this kind of up-close view of aircraft in action.

As a public boat ramp for motorboats, I would rate it slightly below average for this area. It's perfectly fine for smaller, older boats, but new boat owners might be happier to pay the entry fee at the Columbia Island Marina around the corner. If you decide to use this boat ramp, be mindful of the obstacles below the water's surface right outside of the launch area.

Used to be the best kept secret, now it's overcrowded with folks parking where they aren't supposed to. Insufficient porta potties. Sometimes drunk folks (there are supposed to be no alcoholic beverages here) act belligerent. If you are using the boat ramp, try to avoid peak hours. Jet skis leave wakes here and you will find your boat being smashed against the docks. There is no enforcement here due to the lack of...
