Carol Collins Yoga is a terrific find for anyone interested in yoga that is suited and tailored to their individual needs. Not all bodies are lean and flexible. Some of us are round, some of us are older and out of shape. Some of us prefer a wonderful workout without the intensity. Sometimes we need to work on our necks or hips more than our abs. And sometimes we want a restorative class more than a rejuvenating class. Don’t get me wrong … Carol is quite capable of leading a hard core workout, if that’s what her students want. But she is particularly good at working on the specific and individual wants and needs of her class, and will alter her program to suit that day’s requests. She loves to work on problem areas with her students to find the moves and methods that work and that feel good. She is an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher with a wonderful personal touch. She is a skilled listener, and an eager learner, and is always ready to adapt. She enjoys combining bits of Tai Chi and Qi Jong into her yoga classes, and offers a range of classes from intense to gentle to meditative. With full disclosure, I must confess that she is my sister, and I may be a bit biased, but she really is a marvelous yoga teacher and her students and clients are immensely grateful for her and for...
Read moreI was completely new to yoga / interconnected movements classes 6 years ago when I began taking classes with Carol once a week. When I retired 4 years ago I increased my participation to two then & now three classes per week. I always look forward to coming to class whether in person or by zoom from my apartment. I have grown in strength, balance, flexibility & endurance noticeably month by month. Carol takes her time with each new skill we learn in class, explaining in detail (& demonstrating ) how to move while breathing in sync with our movements and while also reminding us to only do what our bodies are ready to do so that we don't injure or strain any of our ligaments & joints. Each class is always a bit different from the last one as we work at honing new strengths & balance. The classes include breathing techniques, stretching, muscle building, balancing, Qui Gong flowing moves, sun salutations and finally mindful relaxation. I highly recommend Carol's teaching skills and calm clear voice encouraging us as we move from one workout to the next. I always feel a bit stronger & in control of my body at the end of each class and usually pretty...
