My friend and I recently treated ourselves to a rejuvenating spa day, opting for the 60-minute massage to ease into the experience. From the moment we stepped into the spa, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of cleanliness and tranquility. The inviting scent that filled the air ( which I purchased in the end) and the warm welcome from the concierge staff immediately set the tone for what turned out to be an extraordinary day.
As a self-proclaimed spa snob, I can confidently say that this location exceeded my expectations. The aesthetically pleasing décor, coupled with the warm lighting, created an ambiance that felt both luxurious and soothing. The attention to detail was evident, and the cleanliness of the facilities only added to the overall sense of relaxation.
The concierge staff not only checked us in efficiently but also took the time to give us a tour of the locker area. The abundance of amenities was impressive, making the entire spa experience even more enjoyable. It was evident that every aspect of the spa was carefully curated to provide a truly exceptional experience.
Now, let's talk about the massage – and more specifically, Wallace, the magician behind the hands that worked wonders on me. Initially, I considered keeping this gem to myself out of fear that I wouldn't be able to book him again, but Wallace's skills deserve to be shared. The option to choose from three scents added a personalized touch to the massage, and Wallace's expertise made it one of the best massages I've ever had. I left the spa feeling like a noodle – utterly relaxed and completely rejuvenated.
While my friend enjoyed her massage, I took some time to unwind, and I'm pretty sure I drifted off to sleep, complete with a bit of snoring. The next day, the results were evident – my skin was glowing, and I noticed improved mobility. The entire experience was a solid 10/10, and I wholeheartedly recommend this spa to anyone seeking a blissful escape.
In conclusion, if you're in need of a tranquil haven, look no further. This spa has mastered the art of relaxation, and with professionals like Wallace and the rest of the staff, you're in for an...
Read moreWe planned a special couple’s massage that did not meet my expectations. Things started out on the wrong foot when the staff person assigned to me smelled very heavily of cigarette smoke. I don’t have any personal feelings against smoking, but when I’m paying for a relaxing ambiance, I don’t want to be smelling cigarettes during a spa treatment. The massage itself was not the best I’ve had, and I’m not sure my staff person was the most experienced. When I asked for more pressure, because it didn’t feel like they were actually massaging me but just rubbing my back, they just used more force and now my neck is sore after. She also forgot to do part of the package’s foot scrub on me and only my husband got it, which I did not figure out till after. We were supposed to be given extra time post massage to relax in the room as a couple with a dessert and champagne, but we were told we strictly had 10 minutes max because they had to change the room over, which did not make sense and felt like an oversell on what the couple’s experience was supposed to be. We showed up on time for our appointment, too, so any scheduling conflicts were not on us.
I would book instead at the Ritz Carlton or the Four Seasons. Maybe this place is good for individual services but it didn’t feel as special as I hoped to do a couple’s thing here. The front desk staff were understanding and gave us a discount on our service when I brought up the cigarette smell issue, but still, I think our money would have been spent better elsewhere. The facilities are nicely kept though my husband told me later the men’s locker room was understocked...
Read moreI visited the spa over the weekend. I received a full body massage from Wallace who was great! Jasmine, the spa supervisor is also lovely. The amenities are limited, just a steam room, showers, lounge area. The women’s locker room is very tiny! So it was pretty full and at times making it a bit uncomfortable. I loved the books in the lounge room. I think it’s unfair that you have to spend over a certain amount of money at the spa to access the pool. I also had a really difficult time trying to redeem my spa gift card I was gifted for my birthday. I spent almost a full hour of my “relaxing” time at the pool going back and forth with staff about redeeming my gift card. The advised I should contact the person who purchased the gift card. They then called the spa. They came out about five different times to tell me they couldn’t obtain the information they needed. Ultimately, It took an hour for them to realize that the email they needed was in my spam inbox. Something so simple that could’ve been resolved in one minute, took an hour which really putting a damper on my time spent at the pool. If this is a common occurrence then staff should be aware so that customers don’t have to suffer. It would be nice if they offered access to the pool on the weekends as well - perhaps a membership opportunity. Overall, I’ve been to the pendry a few times - the pendry bar, the moonraker, and unfortunately I’ve always had a poor experience. It seems they’re understaffed. This is one of the most beautiful spots in DC so I hope they get...
