I see the negative reviews. To many of you, try speaking to them like they are actual people, and have your forms filled out at when you get up there. You wonder why they are sometimes rude or slow, this is why. I make the trip in weekly and see it time after time. Christmas week, I saw a woman reach over the counter and take a pen right out of the USPS agent's hand. So, of course, the agent said "Don't reach into my space please." It today's world, a nutjob citizen in a government facility is a very real issue. If you want super fast service, use the idiot-proof kiosk they have. Have your mail ready to the point where they weigh it, stamp it, and you swipe your card. That they speak in monotone is expected. They are processing thousands of pieces a day and I, for one, appreciate the consistently good service I receive. Did you know they'll talk sports, cooking and grandchildren with you? Gasp! Some of you are miserable when you go in there, which is why you may not be treated as well as your parents taught you to expect every step of the way in life. Great office with great agents, which is why I go in there week after week after week. Go ahead, step out of your comfort zone and stop treating them...
Read moreThe older woman with the glasses at the end is rude and obnoxious (Lavern) I was sick but had to go into retrieve a package every day for a week. She shakes her head before she talks to you. She claimedd package was not there. She would yell at me and treated me with disdain and contempt . She would not talk to me other than “it ain’t here. Next!” I finally was given admittance to 2121 Wood Ave. The supervisor had to physically come with me to the post office to intercede with tough Laverne. Laverne had the packages at her feet but claimed she did not recognize the scan as it was from Europe. She was sooo gracious when her manager came in although the day before she had insulted him in front of cumstomers. She was too lazy to give me the package all week. because it was heavy. Customer servive usps told me package was there. It was at her feet but needed her manager to get her to give it to me ! she treated me like a dog.her arrogance and her meanness are deplorable. She speaks to her colleagues while she’s with customers (calling them baby) she (/he?) is vicious and rude. this kind of behavior should not go on. Don’t take it. Complain. We are...
Read moreI visited this post office twice in mid-August. On 08/15, I had a positive experience with one of the employees, who was courteous and helpful.
However, on 08/16, my interaction with an employee named Lynch was disappointing. While I understand that post office staff handle many customers throughout the day, empathy and attentiveness are essential in any customer-facing role. I asked if they had Justice Ginsburg stamps; she said no. I then asked for American flag stamps for my letters, and she said yes, but instead handed me Marine Corps stamps without explanation. When I asked again, I was told I would need to purchase the entire sheet. This was surprising because, at the 1700 Pennsylvania Ave location, employees always ask what kind of stamps a customer would prefer and can accommodate without requiring a full-sheet purchase.
Additionally, unlike the Pennsylvania Ave branch, which accepts letters over the counter, this location directed me outside to place my letters in the collection box.
On a positive note, this branch is well-stocked with...
