New York & Washington D.C. One-Week Trip Part 5 | What Did We Eat in D.C.?

Stepping into this bagel shop feels less like entering a classic deli and more like a carefully curated Instagram feed come to life. This spot is a masterclass in modern, minimalist design with a warm, welcoming twist. This is a place where you're encouraged to linger, not just grab-and-go. While the aesthetic is pure hipster bliss, the bagels are where the true magic happens. Unlike the dense, chewy New York-style bagels that dominate the scene, this shop offers a bagel that's more about a perfect, pillowy interior with just the right amount of crispness on the outside. It’s a lighter, airier take, thanks to their sourdough starter. The Everything bagel is perfectly coated—no sad, barren bottoms here—and the salt-to-seed ratio is a thing of beauty. The coffee is thoughtfully sourced, and the service is friendly and efficient. Be prepared for a line, especially on weekends, but it moves quickly and gives you ample time to soak in the chill atmosphere and plot your order. This spot is more than just a breakfast shop; it’s a destination that proves DC’s bagel scene is a force to be reckoned with, blending old-school quality with a fresh, contemporary spirit.

I am not a person who leaves a comment about a bad product or a bad visit, but I feel that this time I am not going to make an exception since I have received very bad treatment from one of the employee at this location ,her name is Elise and he has made me feel in the most despicable way that no one deserves it. I think that the fact that one of the owners is related does not give this girl the right to treat the customers in that way, the people who works in this business need to have a little kindness since they are working in the front of the house as the owner of a food business I would not let a person as despicable as this be in front of the house treating customers ,discriminatory and aggressive way, Owner of this business take action over this situation don’t let you employe treat the people that invest in your business every morning been treated this way.!!!!

In DC for just a few days. Thank GOD we found this place. 1 The cheese from my sandwich actually melted INTO my bagel! INTO! REAL! 2 We walked SO MANY miles and this strong, amazing coffee, and powerful food, fueled us. 3 There's room to sit. PLENTY of room to sit. You will sit with your friends and hear each other talk over the absolutely awesome background music and other customers. 4 People watching is GOLD! Everyone is here: the hippies, the LGBTQ+ squad, the trust fund college kids and their parents, the bros after their workouts, the young couples with their little kids, everyone! 5 And yes, when you bite a bagel sandwich, the insides sliiiiides out. It's GOING to happen. They have knives and forks. Let it sit for three minutes and slice it up if you want. Or, just wallow in the glory! 6 And the coffee. There was a place less than a block from the condo we rented. On day four we were thinking, "Let's try it out..." but we didn't because we just could NOT trust the coffee to come even close! 7 Yes, there's a tatte right around the corner. You can go there. it's good, but it's not this good. Go...

I’m not exaggerating when I say I had tears in my eyes. The lunch I just had here is one of the best meals I’ve had in my life.

The cheesy yuca bun (gluten-free and greasy in the best way) is rich and nutty and incredibly satisfying — I got it with vegan sausage, jalapeños, red onion, cheddar, and pesto. My friend, who’s recovering from surgery at the moment, said, “I feel like this is the first time my brain has had dopamine in it in weeks.”

I have celiac, so when I was a kid my friend’s mom would make me a small batch of gluten-free latkes on Hanukkah to go along with the flour ones. I love that woman, but I have to admit, the latkes I had here are even better. Incredibly creamy, perfectly crispy. My friend and I just kept shaking our heads and smiling.

The staff were really friendly, and the patio was lovely and spacious and beautifully painted. This was one of those meals that brings color back to the world, and I think I’ll remember it for a long...
