The Embassy Suites Georgetown hotel, in which the HGVC's The District is housed, has and is still undergoing renovations that have produced one of the more attractive properties in the brand. Check in in the 8th floor Owner's Lounge was personable and welcoming. The Owner's Lounge was attractive and furnished with cozy tables and chairs, but unfortunately, it was not in use. That was a great disappointment, as the intimacy and exclusivity with which The District is being marketed is currently limited to accommodations only, namely the renovated suites on the 7th to 9th floors. The Manager's Reception and breakfast are both actually that of the Embassy Suites. No upgraded experience there; inexpensive wine, spirits and beer served from a makeshift table in plastic cups. I don't recall an Embassy Suites Manager's Reception being served picnic style before, but I was told this a was temporary situation until new dishwashing equipment was installed. My wife and I chose to forgo it the first evening and went off property. Breakfast was a Grand Central Station experience. Crowds, topsy turvy trays, lineups and a cacophony rising up through the open atrium. We chose not to have a cooked to order breakfast as the line was more than 20 deep. The seating area, however, was very well set up with the commodious space broken up into many separate and attractive areas. When it was not so overrun, it was quite inviting. Our second morning, a Saturday, we ate early, and the experience was much improved. There was a short wait at the omelette station, and we chose seats far from the buffet table. The newly renovated on-site restaurant, referred to by both The District and ES websites, actually only alluded to the breakfast and Manager's Reception offerings. Outside those two services there was no restaurant, so no lunch, dinner or in-room dining was available. Again, I was told that this was a temporary situation that would be resolved within a few weeks. My Hilton Diamond status yielded me a one category upgrade, but no bottled water or mention of the Diamond amenity points. The suite was very comfortable and nicely appointed. The décor was tasteful and modern, exactly what I expected. Of course, it was brand new and almost everything was in perfect working order. An exceptionin was the mini fridge, which was quite noisy until I raised the temperature setting so that the compressor would not be constantly running. The Keurig coffee maker produced coffee with a decidedly plastic taste, but I would attribute that to it being brand new. At 1:30 AM, on the second night of our stay, my wife and I were awoken by a loud noise coming from the bathroom vent sounding like metal sheeting being shaken to mimic thunder. It was repeated every minute or so. After a couple of unanswered calls to the front desk, I was eventually told that plumbers were finishing some work. I asked to have my complaint brought to management's attention, which was not done However, upon checking out, when I mentioned it, I was offered a 50℅ reduction on that night's rate, which I felt was more than fair. Certainly not a stellar experience. When I booked The District, I believed it would be a separate entity housed within the ES infrastructure. In reality, I just received a nicer suite in an Embassy Suites hotel that was still in the process of being renovated. Had I known, I would not have booked as I am fully aware of how crowded ES are during summer vacation. I was ultimately informed that the Owner's Lounge will be reserved for the exclusive use of those buying a share in the Hilton Club timeshare. Until the ES renovation work is actually complete, I would really recommend staying elsewhere, especially in view of the fact that you will be paying a premium over ES rates that are yielding you little benefit other than a room with nicer décor. Once the refurb is complete, and rates are similar, then by all means, try...

My stay at the Embassy Suites Hilton in Washington, D.C.
Babyyyyy, this hotel was top notch! From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations.
First off, the entrance alone set the tone absolutely beautiful. The moment we stepped out of the car, we were greeted by an amazing staff member, an older gentleman whose name I didn’t catch, but he was so kind and helpful. He showed us exactly where to park and even gave us directions for getting back on the road after our trip.
At the front desk, I was welcomed by Cara, who I’d already been chatting with before my arrival. She was so sweet, accommodating, and professional. I was in town for a concert with friends, and even though my room was originally on a different floor, she went out of her way to make sure I was moved to the same floor as my group that kind of customer service is everything!
Now let’s talk amenities as she checked me in, Cara told me about the complimentary happy hour (yes, two free drinks from 5:30–7:00 PM!) and a $25 credit for the store or restaurant. The aesthetics of the hotel were chef’s kiss the stylish bar area, plenty of seating, the beautiful pool, and the stunning indoor fountain waterfall that added such a relaxing, upscale vibe.
When I got to my room, I was so excited. I was upgraded to a Diplomat King Suite, and it was beautiful! The room smelled fresh and clean, and seeing my name pop up on the TV was such a nice touch it’s the little things for me. The suite had a separate living and dining area, a microwave, fridge, and even a sink. There was also a sleeper sofa in the living room I didn’t need it since I was staying solo, but it’s great to know it’s there for families or groups.
The bathroom was spotless and fully stocked, and the bedroom was spacious, clean, and comfortable with a huge King bed, a large mirror, and a lovely view. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I had such a good night’s sleep.
Now, breakfast the spread was delicious! They had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, bagels, and more. The coffee wasn’t my favorite, but everything else was fresh and well-prepared. I would’ve loved to see turkey bacon or sausage as an option, but overall, it was satisfying. Plus, they had a made-to-order station where you can customize omelets and more I loved that feature!
Every staff member I encountered was friendly, courteous, and attentive. The service was consistent from check-in to checkout, and it truly made a difference.
Oh, and did I mention this was my first time in D.C.? This hotel made my first visit unforgettable. I’m definitely coming back to the Embassy Suites Hilton on my next trip to Washington, D.C. hands down the perfect hotel for this...

I must say I am completely satisfied and overwhelmingly pleased by the staff's diligence in reaching out and expressing their concern about my experience. I have had calls from Eric MacMartin and JoNate Leak about their concerns over my stay and their perseverance to ensure everyone at the District has a great and pleasurable time. I can truly say that after having varying communications with the team I am happy to update my last rating cause above everything else, customer service resonates with me. Both Eric and JoNate have show this and continue to keep my confidence in Hilton. I will be happy to come back and visit.
Bad Check In Experience and overcharged for unused parking When we arrived around Midnight the Hilton Grand vacations employees were gone so we had to report to the Embassy suites reception desk. First she put us in the wrong room, my 6.5 month pregnant wife was already tired and in bed only for them to come tell us we are in the wrong room. I had to wake her and tell her we need to move. When she asked about parking they didn't point me in the right direction in fact I parked outside and figured I would deal with it in the morning after all its 2 AM and I was exhausted. Later that morning, we left to explore early in the morning when we came back later that evening I asked again about parking and they gave me an embassy suites key card saying that my district room key would not work. I ran back and when I attempted to scan nothing happened I attempted to call and no answer. I got out of my vehicle and noticed a long line at the reception desk and said screw it parked so day 2 I left my car parked outside. Now day 3 comes along I get up early and was able to talk to another gentleman who got me squared away he said the key wasn't activated. I was finally able to park in the parking garage. Now comes check out I get home and get my bill via email and I'm charged for 3 days worth of parking! I call and they say that someone will reach out to me shortly. Tatjana contacts me 3 days after only to tell me she needs my parking ticket to reimburse me the 2 days and there is no digital way of doing it and perhaps if I called Hertz they might have my parking ticket.... Car rental companies clean the cars same day and see parking tickets as trash.... My chances are that ticket is gone and I have been robbed by Hilton. I should add I am a Hilton Grand Vacations owner and Hilton Honors Diamond member and by far my worst experience at a...
