Z.Y Meridian Massage Spa — Local services in Washington

here are couple of observations after 3 visits to the place. I decided this time that I will not be returning. I am giving 4*s for the good quality of massage and as Coco has been always very nuce with me but thought pppl who would be annoyed by the same things as me should know that:

1- there is a language barrier so you cannot communicate with the massage person except for google translate. Even that is not easy due to pecularities of the Chinese language making it hard to translate. It becomes frustrating to explain the simplest things.

2- the owner supposedly speaks english but she pretends not to understand conveniently. For example when you tell them they are charging more than they should for the credit card she pretends not to understand what you say.

3- they would tell you the massage person you ask for is available at the hour you want but You go there and you keep waiting bc the person is either not there or not available.

4- every time I came to this place they cut the massage short of 5 minutes than I paid for. And then they always say "oh I calculated it incorrectly, I will give you 5 minutes more next time".

5- there is always a washing machine working and/or loud american customers speaking and nobody shuts them up (and americans wont have the awareness that at a spa you just do NOT speak loudly! as they have to be loud all the time!). Being familiar with Chinese culture, I can understand that they would never shut anybody up but maybe they can start dealing with the Americans the American way.

My interaction with ZY Meridian Massage Spa was great from beginning to finish. I decided to try them out when I discovered them through Groupon. I called and booked my appointment for the next day. The staff member I spoke with was professional and polite. I made it to my appointment (early or on time) and they didn't have me wait too long. The place is very clean and the temperature is a good balance. The massage was AMAZING! Thank you Coco for paying attention to my pains. Back story, I was in a car accident almost a decade ago and never got the necessary medical care so my body is in complete shambles. I need weekly chiropractic sessions and I had to stop going at some point because life got crazy. I've been under so much stress for the past few months, and I thought my body was going to give out. I'm so happy I decided to listen to my body and get a massage. The money and tip I paid were so worth it. Coco was great with applying pressure. I look forward to going back for a longer massage. Coco gave a great massage but unfortunately I was disappointed being told that it was CASH only and I needed to pay up front by the other worker. I was told to go to the ATM at the pizza parlor; additional fees were accrued to do this. During my massage, I heard a couple and a man pay AFTER their massage and the man paid by card and left a cash tip (I heard the Apple Pay sound & her say, “cash tip?”).
