Went because I heard it was good and craft cocktails. Not so much. Yeah space was cute but tiny. But cocktails were basic as any other bar and not done well AT ALL. Ordered an Old Fashion. Lady bartender muddled the fruit (you don’t do that for this drink) and then put it all in a shaker and poured over crushed iced. Not at all how you make this drink. Worst Old Fashion I ever had. My friend ordered a Grey Goose Martini. They literally asked him would you like gin or vodka. These bartenders don’t have a clue what they are doing. MAKE REAL COCKTAILS WITH ACTUAL ICE CUBES AND TEACH YOUR BARTENDERS HOW TO MAKE A REAL DRINK. Telling my friends not to bother going. Waste of money. Better drinks elsewhere. This charming boutique LGBT bar in Washington DC truly stands out. The servers greeted us warmly, and the atmosphere buzzed with delight. The seating area was exquisite, complemented by a lovely bar. During the Valentine's season, the decor was tastefully adorned, enhancing the experience. The cocktails were expertly crafted, boasting a unique and potent flavor profile that set them apart. I wholeheartedly suggest giving them a try; the drinks are truly exceptional. Alongside a selection of chips, nuts, and a delightful cheeseboard, they offer a range of food options that align perfectly with the bar's boutique theme. Licht has become one of my go-to local spots on U St. Their approach on decor + ambiance has always been the immediate first thing I’ve noticed since they’ve opened and I have been loving as the space changes over time (keep the christmas lights pls). Major shout out to Markco for not only being a fabulous bartender but also for his ability to create a safe and welcoming Queer space.
