Hiway Fuel Point S — Local services in Washougal

I've had good experiences in the past when dealing with Hiway Fuel. They are local, and one of the larger auto repair shops in town. Their service was once great, proactive, and they communicated well. That said, the last few times I've brought my vehicle in, the communication has been very poor. They don't call with updates, you have to call them. This makes it tough when your only vehicle is in their care. Most recently, I called on a Friday to schedule a major repair to my vehicle, and was told they would have it done Monday evening or maybe part way into Tuesday if I dropped it off Monday morning. Dropped it off Monday morning, and waited until 4:30 on Tuesday before I called to see what the status was, as I had some important errands to run. I was told by Rod, who sounded flustered and frustrated, that the guy he had assigned to my vehicle was stuck on another project that was taking longer than they thought, but that they have all the parts for mine in stock and a plan and will start on it...Wednesday. And they'd be done in...3 - 5 days. When I asked what day he meant, while reminding him the day they origially said they'd have it done, he cut me off mid-sentence said Thursday or Friday. I'm now a week without a vehicle. I can understand delays, things happen, but I can't understand failing to inform customers of them, and also failing to apologize with any sense of sincerity or attempting to make things easier for the customer. I made an appointment a month ago to have the air conditioning refilled in my Freightliner. I dropped it off on Friday and I was told it would be done early Monday. On Monday I did not received a call by 2pm so I called them before I drove down to pick it up with my son. They did not even start on it yet and they had no intention to do the work on Monday. They were not apologetic, the excuse was no one looked at the calendar. I have all of the equipment and refrigerant needed to do the work, I wanted to support a local business. I have learned my lesson.

I am writing this after the response for Hiway Fuel and it was not a positive and left me more frustrated than I already was. When I called them yesterday they did not show any consideration for the time of their customer and lacked common curtesy and respect of customers.

I called them and all they made was excuses that they were short staffed and that was the reason for the job not being finished. I know this happens and I want to be reasonable and understanding. But after they knew people called out they should have called and informed customers, instead they did what was easy nothing. On the phone they used gaslighting attempting to make me feel I was the one being unreasonable. They did not try to make it right, I will never go back and I will urge everyone to save the time and go...

I've brought my vehicle to Hiway Fuel twice over the past couple of years and have been consistently impressed with both their service and customer care. The first visit was for a walk-in oil change-no appointment necessary. They got started right away, and the staff was friendly and efficient. I waited in the air-conditioned lobby, which was especially appreciated since I had my small dog with me (kenneled). The service was completed in under 30 minutes, and to top it off, they included a complimentary car wash with the already affordable oil change. I left very happy with the experience. When it came time for a timing belt replacement, they were the first place I thought of. Once again, their customer service was excellent. Their service writer was incredibly helpful and walked me through the estimate and options in detail. Although the repair couldn't be completed the same day, they thoughtfully offered a shuttle service. Even though I live outside city limits, the kind and friendly Brenda drove me home-and they later provided transportation back to pick up my vehicle, which I thought was outstanding. I'm truly grateful to have found a trustworthy, affordable, and customer-focused auto service center.
