Indochino Custom Suits from China
I visited Nordstrom on October 21, 2024, to buy a suit for my new job. They had an offer for custom suits, which I initially thought was handled by Nordstrom itself. However, it turned out to be through Indochino, a company they collaborate with or rent space to. I’m not exactly sure.
The fabrics available were nice, and the process seemed straightforward. They took my measurements and had me fill out an app with my preferences. The total cost was $500, which seemed reasonable at the time. I was told the suit would be ready in 2 to 4 weeks, which worked for me since I needed it in two months.
Then, things took a turn. I received an email stating that my package was pulled for customs inspection, and they wouldn’t release it unless I provided a photo ID. That’s when I checked the tracking number and realized the suit was being shipped from China. Something I had no idea about when I placed the order. Had I known, I wouldn’t have purchased it.
At first, I refused to send my photo ID, but after three months of emails and the risk of losing my money, I finally gave in. When I finally received the suit, it was a disaster.
The jacket was too wide at the bottom, almost like a robe.
The pants were two different lengths, imagine getting pants that don’t match your legs!
I went back for alterations, and they initially wanted to charge me $80 to fix their mistake. I argued that I had received the suit less than a month ago, so they eventually did the alterations for free. But they overcorrected the jacket, making it so tight at the bottom that it looked awkward.
Overall, this was a horrible experience. $500 suit made in China with months of frustration and poor craftsmanship. I expected better from Nordstrom, and I’m extremely disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend this...
Read moreFrom the day Nordstrom announced coming to the Milwaukee market the company has been an amazing community partner.
Before they opened they invited children to create their own custom “fish” art work to be displayed in the children’s section. My daughter gathered with other kids at Discovery World for an awesome class to create the art work. Awhile later she was invited to a reception to see the installed work at Mayfair Mall. Both were memorable events for my daughter. I called Erik Nordstrom out of the blue and talked about the rich retail heritage of Milwaukee and the excitement around Nordstrom’s great decision to locate at Mayfair Mall. He was informative and excited to join Milwaukee’s retail market. The fact that he took my call without knowing me was very gracious. RJ, an associate at Nordstrom - Mayfair went way of out of his way to assist me with a David Donahue, French cuff - dress shirt purchase. Jasmine assisted with making sure I ordered the right neck and sleeve size. The customer service was outstanding and drove me back into the store for more items. I made a few online purchases and had them shipped to the store. RJ went out of his way to offer a variety of ways to complete the purchase and then contacted me when the items arrived. Nordstrom customer service is legendary. The great hiring decisions Nordstrom makes at both its Wisconsin flagship store and its Nordstrom Rack store make the visit to either worthwhile. Their garden level grill, Ruscello, has amazing food!
If you haven’t been to Nordstrom at Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa it is well worth the visit. Great selection of brands normally not available in the Milwaukee market. If they don’t have something they will order it immediately. Great store,...
Read moreGreat selection of merchandise and well merchandised. Some of the staff leave a lot to be desired. We wanted to purchase a Kurt Geiger handbag and I didn't have my Nordstrom card so I gave the salesperson my driver's license. I looked to zip up my crossbody bag and the sales person was no where in sight. She returns and says she had to check on something. NOT WITH MY DRIVER'S LICENSE IN HAND. She knew better. She was unprofessional, disrespectful and inconsiderate. She broke rules walking away with a customers personal identification in her hand. There was no reason for her to do that. She could screenshot it and/or make a purchase. I had been waited on by her before and after checking out and being fitted for alterations I received 6 notifications that my alternation was ready for pickup for three weeks. I picked up the pants I had altered the next day. So I am done with the Nordstrom at Mayfair. I will be a new faithful client at Nordstrom on Michigan Ave. from now on. It's a shame. I found a manager but he didn't seem to be compassionate at all. I don't want to play the race card but myself and the salesperson and manager are all persons of color. It really burns me up when we treat our own people with lower quality than if we were servicing a person of majority. It happens because the retraining and corrections apparently are not in place. She really should be discharged for what she did. I actually locked my driver's license and discontinued my charge card. There are so many dishonest people that have no respect or regard for the people and the reason why they are...
