Appalling conduct from employee night of 10/14/2023. He begged me to insure my games then lied over and over saying he has a "system shutdown" to get me and others out of the store to get one over on me.
When ringing me up he asked if I wanted disc insurance, I said no. He said it would help me out because it's discounted right now, I said no. He then pleaded and said to me "It would help me out", I said no I'm good. Employee begging me for money, are you kidding me? I come back later because the deals were ending that night. Not many people in the store, same guy there. He notices me, says "welcome back". Two minutes in he announces to the store he has a "system shutdown" computers are down and he can't make transactions. People inside the store said they'll look around and seemed to want to wait it out, I stayed too. He insists people leave, saying many stores are down at the moment but a mall store nearby is functioning. I contact a few nearby stores and nobody has a system shutdown, this fraud is lying. A few minutes later, I call his store twice and ask if I go there before close can I purchase a game that I want? The store is almost closed at this point. He says that's fine. I call him one last time and I tell him I'm the guy he announced the "system shutdown" to and was wondering if the system is back up and if I can come back to the store. He says the system is still down and I should try Monday. I called him out on his lies and he continued to lie, saying he only told the other callers (me) that he stocked the games, not that they can buy them. I told him he shouldn't be treating customers this way and his shameless conduct is not worth it. His response word for word: "this conversation has no bearing on me, can I help you with anything else otherwise I could be restocking right now". This employee should be fired. He got upset after I declined his cringe begging and he decided to take it out on me by wasting me a drive to the store and kicked multiple people out of the...
Read moreI bought a Nintendo Switch a week ago from them. I had asked them can it be used for a 7 year old they told me yes. Turns out when I got it for her she didnât know how to use it. On there store policy the receipt says new items can be returned within 15 days. It was a new item I had purchased. The receipt doesnât say unopened items. It says new. Normally every store you buy a console from they will allow you to return it if you bring it back in itâs normal box. For some reason GameStop has such a harsh store policy which is so unfair to customers. There were 3 guys who look like there 40 and still live in there moms basement. They think because GameStop has a strict return policy, they are allowed to talk to people the way they want. I was telling them how she kid canât use it. They go around the store asking other peoples children how old they are and if they can use the system trying to embarrass me. Rather then consider the child not all children are the same. Some of there minds may not be advanced enough but no these workers in this location think they are tough and can talk to people the way they want. Truthfully I can put all 3 of them on the ground at once. They are lucky they are in Wayne my goodness if they talked to people like that in other areas. Instead of making me feel better they try to add to my anger and disrespect me. I am Def reporting there whole staff to corporate maybe they need to take courses on what customer service is all about. Itâs okay Iâm sure yâall will find another job that will pay you $10 an hour that doesnt involve...
Read morePoor customer service and employees, highly recommend boycotting gamestop. I pre-ordered silent hill F and no steel book. I was told day of release that the wayne location never got it and they only send 2 or 3 copies when they do. Employee told me to call back following week which I did. This location is god awful, dirty and messy and the staff ignore the phone and customers. There have been lines and the staff are looking at games having private conversations while the phone is ringing and customers are waiting. I called corporate and all they fo is outsource and no one has any real answers. I was hung up on after demanding a US employee reach out. 4 reps gave me the tun around before hanging up. I also called the willowbrook location and they had my info to call me for the steel book and they did not . Employees esp at this location are misinformed and lie to customers. Yesterday i went in to check on stock for the steel book and the manager told me that they had reserved the steel books for the people that pre-ordered. So i have enployees who pick up the phone when they feel like and lie to paying customers. Gamestop is a scam and very unprofessional. There is no one with actual answers or that can assist all gamestop does from in store employees to phone reps is lie and regurgitate the lines they are made to read. No one can answer my questions and why lies and misinformation is common and ethical for gamestop a...
