Bagel Connect — Restaurant in Wayne

Under New Management since December 2022… and it’s not the same for sure. The variety of bagels is noticeably reduced and I’m not sure whether they’re baked on-site any longer. 🥲 (But, Let’s give Nico, the new owner, a fair chance to prove himself.)

Alternative: Try Bon Appetite Bagels & Bakery 5miles further on 46 East. (Stay in the right lane or you’ll miss it)

For what it’s worth…here’s my review of Bagel Connect before the change of ownership:

I’ve never had made to order bacon before. If you’re into that, this is your place. Just make sure you’re telling them well done. It wasn’t done. I was the only one there so it wasn’t like he was in a rush. Took at least 5 minutes. Then I gave cash because it had a sign that said 3% discount. Order was 8.22 for scallion and bacon. Pretty pricey. Especially for half cooked bacon. Anyway I asked pretty nicely why not a discount since the sign said. I was very rudely responded to. I guess it hit a nerve. As he walked away and turned back on me he told me that if I had paid card it would have been charged more.

The food was terrible.  I got a healthy omelette it has spinach and Swiss cheese.  First the egg white and spinach looked burnt and the spinach was beyond mushy and the Swiss cheese wasn’t even melted my rye toast was dry no butter.  That would’ve been fine if they provide butter for me to do it myself but no nothing provided.  The women at the counter was nice and pleasant.  Even the gentlemen cooking seemed nice but it took over 10 mins to get my food and the food was not good.  I will return again because the staff was pleasant but I will never order anything from the grill just grab...
