Tried to have a little bite to eat with my husband tonight at this dairy queen. The girl taking our order was polite and the young man at the window was very polite. We went to pay with a $100 which yes we both realize we should have gone somewhere to break it first but it is what it is, the man took it and they realized that they didn't have the money to give us change back. He went to go get the manager who from the sounds of it was about to leave, she came back without a smile or anything saying she didn't have the money to give us back for it. I just said oh okay and she went to look at the screen and said "For two tiny meals, $83 are you serious?" To which I replied "Ma'am you do not have to be rude." She kept spouting off about how we were ridiculous for bringing a $100 bill to a fast food restaurant. The entire time she's yelling at us and degrading us for making a simple mistake, she has our money in her hand just waving it around. So at that point I just tell her that I will take our money back and we will go somewhere else. She snatched my money back from me 3 separate times before she finally reached her hand out far enough for me to snatch the money out of her hands. And she was still degrading us as we drove off. So, if you're the manager who was there today, Friday of May 3rd at around 5ish in the afternoon, I truly hope you have the day you deserve and I hope YOUR higher ups see this because you were about one more snatch away from getting the cops called on you for theft. All you had to do was simply say "I'm sorry, we can't break this" and we would have figured it out and came back. But she was foul and rude, so we enjoyed burger...
Read moreI was the only customer, no others in line or in the building. I waited patiently while the two young males bickered over who was going to come take my order. I ordered one item, a blizzard, and waited nearly 20 minutes for it to be made. In case a dairy queen exec stumbles across this...no they didn't turn it upside-down when serving it to me. Instead someone from the back roughly set it on a counter in a very dirty cup and walked away. There was no ink in the receipt printer. The girl who's attention I was finally able to get was bothered when I asked her for a clean cup to put around it, she stated "can't you just put a napkins around it?" I responded, no I cannot. I have a very long drive and don't want sticky hands while driving. She was visibly displeased, sighed and went and got an extremely large cup and dropped the dirty one into it. When I looked at my order, there was barely any candy in it, and I actually paid extra for extra. (I get dairy queen once every few years as a treat, so figured why not splurge on extra candy lol) Perhaps they thought I was paying extra to get a half serving 🙄 I decided in that moment that it simply was not worth complaining and there did not appear to be a manager on shift anyway. So left and am immediately writing this review. Never have I been so disappointed when trying to just snag a quick junk food treat. And it's definitely made me rethink my already rare dairy queen trips. So I guess my pennies won't be missed by any stretch...but hopefully this review gets some traction so that folks who enjoy going regularly will get better service and better ice cream when...
Read moreThis location is so consistently horrible its comical. I've never written a google review, but this location is so poorly operated there needs to be a PSA made for the population of Weaverville.
PLEASE DO NOT COME HERE, ITS NOT WORTH IT CHIEF.
My expectations are pretty low for any fast food restaurant, I don't expect someone who has to deal with the public while making barely enough money to care, to give me world class service. If you do expect that from these workers, well I hate to break it to you, but you are the problem. That being said, the employees of this location have given a new meaning to not caring and not understanding how to communicate or handle the public. These kids have created masterclass of "im just here for the paycheck".
You have to respect the consistency of which the poor service will exceed your ability to comprehend. They will make eye contact with you while you stand in the lobby waiting to place an order, and you will then witness the most well executed "thats not my problem" look from the staff in the back.
I'm writing this review both as a PSA if someone actually reads a review for a dairy queen, but also to admit, these kids might not care, but at least they're consistent.
BTW your order will for sure be cold and missing food. Ice...
