Usually, this Sonic is wonderful. Today, it wasn't and I've tried several times to speak with a manager today. Either the phone is not answered, or I'm told they aren't present.
So, I'll share my complaint here as my receipt got thrown out with the bags and I doubt I'll have any recourse.
I had two orders, not overly complex. The other person was in the car and we did not go through the drive-thru, so we could allow those working time to get our food out. It was around 9:15am and non-breakfast food takes a little extra time.
First the server was so hurried and rude, rushing and talking over me, that I simply stopped without ordering myself food. I order for everyone else before I order for myself so after placing my son-in-law's order and getting through with my husband's, I just stopped and said I was done.
The food took forever coming but, as I said, I was willing to wait. I work third and do not wish to eat breakfast food for my dinner time. My son-in-law is the same. So we wait... .... ....
Finally, the server comes out with our food and just starts handing it through the window as quickly as he can without throwing it at me. He gives me the total but not the two checks. I tell him I need the totals separately so I can give him the right payments. He tells me, I tell him which cards and off he goes.
We think we're set, all is fine. I'm aggravated but I'll get over it. Off we go. I drop off my husband's food, take my son-in-law home with the food for himself and my daughter. I drive back home. Only to arrive to a message that my daughter has her Dad's sandwich and that my son-in-law has the wrong thing. (No one is asking me to fix this, we're resigned, they're just telling me what happened.) I walk in and, sure enough, my husband had our daughter's order.
All of this would have been over looked. We usually just roll with whatever because, well, we're grateful not to be cooking after a long day so, whatever. Then... I checked my bank balance a few hours later. My card was run for my son-in-law's order which was double the amount mine cost.
In my job, this type of mistake can cost people a lot of money and a lot of time. That was the last straw. I've been trying to speak with a manager since I discovered the charge, just to report the incident....
Read moreOrder and they brought us the wrong food. We were okay with that and brought it back. When I handed it back and explained that it wasn't was order, she took the food into the back and began yelling at the workers. She was cursing them loud enough that all the customers could hear, myself included. Calling them incompetent and asking if they could do anything right. She brought my food back out and I told her that her she was very unprofessional. While she stood there, I rechecked the food, and once again told her that the order was wrong. She then again took the food and went to the back. I could then hear her yelling that everyone needs to be quiet that they were "disrupting the customers". She came back out with the bag again and asked if everything was "finally meets my expectations". She also said she was nice enough to give me fresh fries and tots. I checked, they were cold to the touch. I will not be back and I will tell everyone about my experience. Employees should not be treated like that and nor should customers. We called the manager after leaving and asked for the name of the district manager, she said that she couldn't give out their name or info. I hope someone gets back to us so that something...
Read moreThe staff and service were GREAT. It was clear that there were not enough people scheduled for how busy it was.
Sonic is reliable and delicious back in Texas. Unfortunately, anywhere else it seems the care to get the food right just isn't there. The bacon was overcooked. The fries and tater tots were cold. It really seems that they were just understaffed and decided to use the product at the end of its batch.
I asked for mustard on a burger, but it was covered in mayonnaise. As part of the franchise brand, this error is pretty bad. Sonic always built find the idea of either mustard or mayonnaise. It's sort of a crucial to the brand.
Fast food is a pretty tough business model, rendered very difficult in Corona times. I'm thankful for easy food when I didn't have time to cook, but I'm definitely not coming back.
Two stars earned only because the employees were great. It was clear to see that they were stressed and...
