In from out of town & wanted to get a junkin fix. This was a mixed bag of great and not so much. First the good part, though there is a ton of new stuff & craft items (not my thing), there were several great booths with insanely good pricing. I was shocked by low cost on nearly every item I bought. I couldn't be happier with my haul.
Now for the less than stellar...like many of the reviews say, it was uncomfortably warm. Felt tolerable when we entered, but 1/2 way through, that went out the proverbial window. We ended up rushing through the rest of the aisles just to get out. A shame bc I had money that I would've gladly spent. Saw some items that I needed to look over a bit better & some booths that required a bit of digging, but the temp was too much to take. Maybe more fans would help? My husband and I even thought it would be a good gimmick to hand out personal battery powered fans for customers to use while browsing... Can't fix it, at least embrace it & make it a little joke. I can say that it for sure would've kept us there longer, but that solution leads into the next problem...
In order to hand out anything to a customer, you would necessarily be forced to acknowledge them. Every single store I go into, where the counter is directly at the front, assuming that there isn't a rush at the registers, the employees always greet you when you come in the door. That didn't happen, but whatever, no biggy. But when you go to the register to check out, thereby supporting the business & the independent vendors that trust them to maintain a pleasant, hospitable sales venue, there is zero excuse for every single employee (I believe there were 3 or 4 behind the counter) to remain silent. Not a "Hi", not a "Did you find everything ok?", not a single word until they gave the total. Just uncomfortable, awkward, weird silence. That's probably the easiest thing to fix, with very little effort required, and would make a...
Read moreI shop here on a regular basis very disappointed today. Always spend over $100. each time. Today I took a hat box full of sewing trim to the counter to add to my other items. The tag said, HAT BOX FULL MISC SEWING $4.00. As I checked out 30min later the lady in charge said, "I can't sell you this item , I can only sell you the hat box for $4. When I said why? Her response, unless every item in the box is listed on the tag we can't sell it. I asked if she would call the vendor and she sharply responded with, we don't do that either, but I can sell you the box for $4. I said," I am not buying it for the box but the sewing trim in the box. Again the vendor tag read, HAT BOX FULL OF SEWING. They just lost a customer....
Read moreThe booths have a wide variety of items and the facility is clean. If you love Farmhouse decor this place is for you. As others have mentioned it is a very large building and I can imagine that it is quite difficult to cool especially during these really hot months. The women's bathroom paper towel dispenser is located directly in front of the door, I was in the process of getting paper towels to dry my hands as another woman was coming in. She had no way of knowing I was standing there and hit me with door. She was so apologetic and it obviously was not her fault but it did hurt, so that...
