Once again, trying to rehab your company, let’s be perfectly clear, you had the pc for two and a half days. NEVER called me, after I came and got the pc it was already fixed in the time you had it, including ordering parts. So if you know enough about PC’s including gaming pc, it doesn’t take that long. It certainly Didn’t need the parts, it took one part to fix, so either your technician doesn’t know that much or he was told to take his time, order parts he didn’t need. So let me ask you point blank, when were you going you going to call me? It took more time for you to supposedly diagnose without ever calling me, I specifically asked how long, I was tol you would call me either the first day before closing or at the very least the next day . My husband CALLED you on the end of the second day, once again gave you the benefit of doubt, you or your technician said WE WILL CALL YOU BEFORE LUNCH the next day, OOPS did even do that, I decided to come get it, your technician had to call you, you proceeded to finally talk to me, like I’ve said before a little too late. Your technician tried to keep me there, I told my son to take the pc and we left. Now you want to claim it takes a long time to diagnose, haha maybe for you and your technician, not for my deaf son. I was wrong in that I wanted to get a different opinion, mom should have listened to her son even if he is deaf. He knew more than you or your technician. You couldn’t charge me for the parts you ordered 1:I didn’t approve 2. You or your technician ordered them, your cost. As I said before bad business decision. 3. I didn’t give approval to fix anything, I paid 70.00 for diagnosis, that’s all.
Please read this whole review and what this company implies they do or don’t do. No communication, will order parts (says he won’t charge you) that aren’t needed (even for diagnostics). Doesn’t even call but orders parts, then when you come get your device, technician will try and keep you there, when that doesn’t work, he will try and call your deaf son. Trust this company with your device?
Took my son’s pc in graphic card not being recognized. I was told they would call me before six or next day (I gave it to them first thing when they opened) I heard nothing, called them, they said well call you tomorrow before lunch, again heard nothing. Finally I went in, just then working on it, hadn’t called or nothing. Ordered parts without calling me, I decided to take my pc and leave, technician called boss, who wanted to finally talk to me, I said no, should have called when you said you would. Technician wanted me to wait, for what, his boss? Why? You had plenty of time and opportunity to call, you couldn’t be bothered, why should I be bothered? Don’t take anything to be repaired unless you have all the time, and will pay for whatever they order.
I wasn’t called at all, is that your policy? Let’s repair a pc, order parts, without calling the customer? Sure to save time for me, or you, my pc you can’t be bothered to call but you order parts without approval to save me time, sure whatever you say. Good thing I picked up my pc before you had the chance to install parts not needed, just so you know the pc is fixed, no thanks to you or your business, anyone taking your pc be warned, like I said, no calls, orders parts not needed or approved by customer.
Oh now you want to call my deaf son, why? He fixed his own pc, which your company couldn’t or wouldn’t do. The parts your technician stated you ordered wouldn’t have done anything, except line your pockets. Couldn’t call when you promised, now you want to talk, sorry not interested. I hope people read this whole review and get what your company is trying. Do not call my deaf son ever again, he will only bring me the phone and I won’t...
Read moreI am only giving one star as this system does not allow zero.
I took my laptop to this place last year for repairs. The monitor hinge on my laptop was coming apart and the frame and connections needed to be replaced. I was also told, after they looked at it, that the mother board needed replacing. The tech told me it would be a "few days". After a month of continued excuses and delays, I was finally able to pick it up. And it worked fine. As I used it I noticed the wifi was a little weak when I traveled to hotels and conferences, but it worked and I figured the card might be wearing out. Fast forward to the COVID environment and the need to shift to teleconferencing and my webcam does not work. Again, I did not think anything of it and figured I might need a new cam. So I take it to another place for repairs as my first experience with this location was less than satisfactory. They take my computer apart and they can tell I had some work on the hinge for a monitor problem and tell me the hinge and wires have been epoxied together, the frame does not look like it was replaced just glued together inside, the webcam wires go through the epoxy mess and that the wifi card and webcam wires had been crimped to the mother board and when they went to inspect those, the wires "crumbled". He also could not tell if the motherboard was new or not.
I called Advanced C&L and recognize the voice as what my impression was the manager when dealing with them initially, but he side steps and diverts by saying he is not the "supervisor". He started in with the "we have been here 25 years", like many of his replies to negative posts here...I could not care less, seems like there are enough of experiences like mine noted below...shame on me for not reading reviews beforehand. Left my name and number for a call back...we will see if that actually happens.
Before choosing this company to work on my computer, I did not look up any comments on line as this place has been in my local community for as long as I can remember. Again, shame on me for that, I should have read the comments, especially many of the negative ones as I would have gone elsewhere.
You will want to keep moving if you are wondering if this is a good place to take your business. Even if you initially feel it was a good experience, you run the risk of finding a problem later down the road because you cannot trust how they actually did the work.
I will follow up and discuss how they handle this...
Read moreI can't even say that they scammed me because I don't believe there was a single thought put into my service here. The place I had wanted to go to was closed, so I ended up here. I TOLD them, even CALLED TO REMIND THEM what my problem with my computer was because I was so worried they wouldn't fix it, and guess what? In one ear, out the other. My problem was that I was locked out of one of my two drives, the password both wouldn't work and wouldn't let me reset it. Alongside being unfriendly and impatient, I felt compelled to trust them seeing as 1) they have decent reviews and 2) I really was desperate to get into the drive containing all of my homework, test reviews, and personal information. So I paid the hefty deposit, called the next day because I was so worried they were going to break into the wrong drive, and returned to the store two days later to realize they had broken into the wrong drive. They made a big deal out of removing viruses from the computer (is it possible to have viruses in a drive that has only been downloaded for one day?) and downloading like, Microsoft PowerPoint and Word and stuff (that's storage space they just took up for no reason) and they charged me over $200. Of course, being the spineless sap I am, I paid it and left hoping that maybe them disabling the passcode meant I could get into the drive I needed to at LEAST, but no. I was still locked out. Took it to UbreakIfix and they had it fixed next day for like $80. Unfortunately, there is no paper trail behind my experience with this store so that money is GONE, all I can do it write...
