Range USA Webster — Local services in Webster

I’ll start off by saying that this is my 2nd time going to a range so idk how the over all “range” experience goes. Secondly I know I put 3 stars but it’s closer to 3.8. The store/range overall is extremely clean and organized. The gun selection available for purchasing is great I even found some guns I haven’t seen in person before in other stores/pawn shops. The selection for renting is also bigger than any I’ve ever seen, the staff is also great. The guy that helped us out to rent a lane was great and informative I liked his upbeat attitude (which is hard to find in the gun world. Everyone is just an old person that says “I know more than you” to Home Depot employees type of attitude). The other guy that helped us out to look at some conceal carry guns came off the same way but once we talked he opened up and started recommending and making jokes which is great and what I would expect as far as customer service. The lanes are clean and the guy walking from lane to lane is pretty nice as well. He saw me push the shells forward to help clean and even said thank you. Most people would just ignore or say “it’s the minimum you could do”. So yes it’s an overall positive experience the thing that knocks it down stars is price. This is one of those ranges where it makes more sense to get a membership than pay the day to day fee. I ended up paying nearly $80 for a single visit for me and my wife (and this is where my inexperience with ranges comes in because idk if this price is normal across all ranges or if it’s on the cheaper end). I’m comparing this to the range we have in our town where it’s $19 per person no additional fees. So even if i had to pay a full additional $19 there it still would’ve been cheaper and it’s an “hour” . (Here you pay I believe $25 for one hour + $12 for an additional person plus additional fees.) I’d only recommend this place if you get a membership (which is worth it if you shoot more than once this isn’t near my house so it doesn’t make sense for us unfortunately) if you’re only looking to try out a new gun or go shooting every once in a while then yeah I’d look around. Overall I’d 100% recommend this place for anything like ammo or gun purchasing, shooting if you get a membership. The star rating is just a personal thing with our one time pricing to shoot. I've been a memeber at this range since they opened the webster location. I've been shooting here more times than I could ever count. However, here recently, I have canceled my membership. This is because of the absolute lack of safety in the shooting range. I am not talking about the infrastructure, I'm talking about the employees. I hesitate to call them safety officers because the amount of times I have witnessed them just watch other shooters point what I can only assume to be a loaded firearm at other shooters, mishandle a weapon to the point of danger, come out of the lane waving a gun around, or just Blatantly ingnore safety. all as the employee stands by and watches, not saying anything to the shooters, not stopping them, not alerting other employees, not calling a manger. This behavior from the employees is beyond a disappointment, as it breeds an atmosphere of danger. These customers just continue ignoring safety. This behavior from the employees will inevitably lead to someone getting shot. It is my belief that the employees in the range do not have the confidence to correct this behavior.

The only saving grace is the gun shop part of this range. The employees here are top notch very polite, extraordinarily knowledgeable on firearms, The amount of times I have watched customers come in who are nervous about guns and watched the employees explain everything in such an amazing way that the customer is now confident, comfortable and feeling welcomed in the store is truly amazing. I wish that this level of customer service was found in more stores in our great industry, it is however and unfortunately only found here, this is not enough to win back my business as I have stated this behavior from the employees in the range will inevitably lead to someone getting shot if it is not corrected. I do hope that they correct this issue, the amount of new shooters they have brought into the industry because of their winning customer service is more than anyone could count. It makes me very sad to think of one of them losing their life in that range Because of what could only be described as absolute...

My wife and I went to the Webster Tx. location for the Basic Handgun course. We arrived earlier since the traffic was not as bad as anticipated around 4 pm. My wife needed to pick up ear protection and safety glasses. The gentlemen (I did not catch his name. sorry) behind the counter was very helpful and took his time to help her choose a comfortable pair of earmuffs. We told him that we were here for the Basic Handgun course. He asked if we had completed our waivers already, which we had and then asked if we brought our own guns. I told him that we would need to use rentals. He spent time showing us different guns and was very informative as to the features and differences between models. We made our selections and after purchasing ammunition we were ready for range portion of the class. With our equipment set aside behind the counter we set off to find our instructor Ronnie. Ronnie was fantastic. He is knowledgeable, energetic and animated. It is evident that he really cares about personal protection with a firearm and how to safely go about achieving that goal. His focus while teaching the aspects of the class was underlined with safety. By the time we left the classroom for the range, Ronnie had made us feel that we knew what to expect and how to safely handle the firearms. After completing our live firing of 50 rounds of ammunition, coupled with the classroom work and afterward question and answer session, we really felt like we had achieved our goal of learning our way around a handgun and especially how to do it safely.
