I’m normally not one to leave a review but I had to share this. We went here for lunch today and the food was great. We got the cheesy bread and the bacon brie marmalade for appetizers. We also got the nice to meat yall, a make your own pepperoni and basil, and the prosciugula for our pizzas. The service was severely lacking. The first person to come up to us grabbed us our waters and menus. We weren’t aware that they weren’t our server until another person came up and asked for our drink orders. They didn’t seem to know anything about what was available, as they had to go ask the bar what kind of hard cider was available (the menu said to ask the server), and two of the drinks we wanted weren’t able to be made because they didn’t have ingredients available. One of the drinks was their play on an espresso martini and they told us that if we wanted them to make it that we could go to the gelato shop next door to buy espresso from them and they could make our drink with it because they were out of espresso. Then they didn’t have any type of sparkling wine to make a mimosa. Understandable, except the people taking orders should be aware of things that aren’t available so that it doesn’t take 20 minutes to take a drink order. The bartender had to actually come up to our table to talk to us about all of this. Our appetizers came out fine. Then the 1st person came back to us and took our pizza order, which again, who is our actual server?? And they had to come back to our table because they forgot one of the pizzas we wanted (we had no modifications). At this point we’re already about 45 minutes in to our dining experience and it took about another 30 for our pizzas to come out. They came out separately, but thankfully they were fresh out of the oven so I’m assuming they just ran them as they were pulled out. Normally I wouldn’t mind this timeframe for this amount of food, but there were 2 other tables inside the restaurant with us, so I don’t understand why things were taking so long. We had to ask every time someone came to the table for more water. There was no prebussing for any of the used dishes that we weren’t using anymore. We asked for boxes for our pizza when we were ready to go and the second person brought us out boxes that weren’t for pizza and looked like the thin cardboard boxes that you would wrap a shirt in for a gift, so we had to ask the person behind the bar for the actual pizza boxes that were available. Then came the check and we requested it to be split evenly down the middle between 2 cards. The server took the cards and went back to the kiosk behind the bar and was actively struggling to split the bill and had to have someone come to help. Then it looked like they swiped one of our cards multiple times through the struggle. Then someone came in to place a to-go order and they started helping that customer in the middle of finishing taking our payment. We ended up getting up and going over to where they were and just asking for the check to sign so we could leave because it was taking another 10 minutes just to get our cards back. I have no idea what happened today because I’ve been looking through all these positive reviews and I was sad that this was our experience. I could have more empathy if it was a busier day; we’ve all been there on a busy Sunday morning/afternoon when you have 20 tables by yourself, but this was not that...

Our party of five sat ourselves at a high-top table toward the back, and it took about five minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. When our waiter (I believe his name was James? Tall African-American man) finally arrived, the first thing he did was tell us—rather curtly—that we had to move because our party was "too big" for that table. No greeting, no pleasantries, just a directive to relocate. Not the warmest start, but okay.
After waiting another 10 minutes, James finally returned. I noticed they had a full bar, so I asked if they could make a simple piña colada on the rocks for my mother-in-law. His response? A flat-out, "Sorry, we don’t do custom drinks. We only make ones off the menu." Strange, considering most full bars accommodate basic requests. At this point, I was already considering leaving, but the group wanted to stay and try the pizza, so we settled for some seasonal cocktails instead.
We ordered two pizzas, an alfredo pasta, and a burger. Surprisingly, the food came out fairly quickly—probably the best part of the experience. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. The pizza had that signature char on the bottom, as if it were from a wood-fired oven, but the texture of the cheese and toppings felt oddly spongy, reminiscent of those $1 frozen pizzas from childhood. Definitely not the quality we expected. At least the toppings themselves were decent.
Now, about those cocktails… They finally arrived after we finished eating. Nearly a 20-minute wait. Not ideal.
While the mediocre food was disappointing, the real issue was the service. James never once refilled our waters, yet he somehow found plenty of time to entertain the small table of women next to us who were celebrating a birthday. I even watched him personally shake a custom birthday cocktail for them—for a solid 10 minutes! Funny, considering he told us custom drinks weren’t allowed. Even the table next to us seemed annoyed, waiting for him to take their order.
To top it off, we waited another 20 minutes for the check. At that point, I had given up and just went to the bartender to settle it. For the first time in my life, I left a $0 tip. Safe to say, I...
