I’m not sure where to start I’ve had multiple bad experiences here where I’m being pressured to buy stuff employees recommend, and disregarding the products I came to buy specifically. Also had employees before tell me that my skin doesn’t look great and went on to specifics regarding my skin in a disrespectful way. Most employees (not all - I have genuinely had great experiences with some employees) are just genuinely disrespectful - don’t work in this business where you can’t have basic respect to others. My sister and I signed up for a charlotte tilbury event 3 weeks in advance. We both bought $25 gifts cards to reserve our spots. We were told this event would consist of receiving bags and hearing make up artists speak and we’d get a ton of samples from Charlotte Tilbury - which is simply why we signed up. We signed our names at 10AM and I asked to confirm that they would be open on a 10AM on a Sunday she turned around to another employee and confirmed with her and said yes 10AM. We woke up today 9AM on a Sunday got ready to get here at 10, the doors were locked we spoke to an employee about why we were here, our names were not even listed on the reserved sheet. My sister and I both signed our names and phone numbers. And told us this event would consist of make up artists color correcting you and helping you understand what products are best to use on your face. That is not why we signed up at all and it’s absolutely frustrating knowing that even they’re employees do not know what’s going on at these events. I would of never even signed up had I known what this event was for - and them telling me it’s at 10AM and the doors don’t even up open up until 11. Everything is very disorganized and it’s a shame, they’re employees do not even know what’s going on and misinforming customers. I’ve quite literally had it with this Ulta location. I’m just going to go to the League City location from now on, where employees actually tend to care about their customers. And if I could rate this place in the negatives I...
Read moreToday I went to get my eyebrows waxed and tinted (I'd never tried either service before from anywhere). I had no expectations and was really only doing it because I hit Diamond level and got a $25 off a Beauty Service coupon, but I was SO pleasantly surprised at how it turned out. Here are the high points: 1.) I was a few minutes late due to the weather and the brow stylist, Crystal R. didn't say anything about it, but greeted me and actually apologized to ME instead because she had started walking around to help customers in my absence. 2.) She answered all my questions and was patient when I didn't know the answers to her questions. I even had to look up my appointment to make sure I booked the right service and she didn't rush me at all. 3.) The waxing was not even close to painful like I had for some reason imagined, but maybe it was because Crystal was so friendly and talked to me the entire time, asking me how I am and if I have holiday plans, and then answering those same questions if I asked her back. 4.) I was worried, again for no reason, that my eyebrows would look entirely different or mishapen or just awful after getting them waxed and tinted, but they did not! I like the shape and the color she picked out. They were a little thicker and darked than I'm used to filling in, but she had assured me ahead of time that the darkness and thickness were only temporary because the tint is only meant to last a few weeks on the brow hairs, but no more than a day if you wash your face and shower on your actual brow's skin. She was right! I washed my face and my brows looked a lot more natural and still fuller than before I went in for the service. 5.) She even answered my questions after the appointment was over while I was shopping around for brow products because I was so happy about the experience that I honestly would trust whatever she recommended me.
I hope she reads this because it was so wonderful that I will definitely come back to her! If you ever want brow services, please book...
Read moreI've shopped at this location for several years now and had no real problems. Occasionally staff would be dismissive if I didn't come in with a full face of makeup and dressed to the nines, but I don't like being hovered over by staff so it wasn't too big of a deal for me. My recent experience, however, has left a bad taste in my mouth.
I went in a couple days ago to get refills on my moisturizer (Clinique's 100hr moisture surge and the moisture surge with SPF are amazing btw) and one of the gentlemen working there came over to upsell me. No big deal, I work retail and sales so I get it and I'm always looking to try to improve my skincare routine. He suggested two other products to replace my current moisturizers. He told me they'd be able to help my breakouts and do some correcting on my skin. He also told me that the new products were the same price as the Clinique ones and that one of the new ones was even cheaper. Thinking this was a great deal, I thought I'd try them.
Boy was I hoodwinked. One of the new moisturizers that I had been told would be the same price as the 100hr moisture surge cost the same price as the 100hr moisture surge 1.7oz AND the spf moisture surge 1.7oz!!! One product was costing me the exact same as my original moisturizing routine! I normally spend about $80 getting a 1.7oz jar of the two clinique moisturizers I like and ONE of the new moisturizers was gonna cost me the same amount!!!
I'm all for upselling and getting people to spend more money in your store, but flat-out lying about the price point is a despicable business practice! I didn't mind spending the money because the benefits seemed worth it to me, but he should have just been honest and up front about the cost. A good sales person can get a customer to see the value in spending that much money. A bad sales person lies to get the sale.
I will not be returning to this location so long as employees continue to lie about price points to up...
