Pickle Papers — Local services in Wenatchee

This is a delightful little store run by a couple of amiable old ladies. I went there last November and this February to pick up grocery and to-do writing pads, which they carry quite a few different kinds. They also stock all sorts of greeting cards, ones you don't see in most stores, art supplies (mostly color pencils, though there are likely other art materials), writing journals, and all sorts of nic nacs (to place descriptions on the stuff there that I didn't pay much attention to at the time). They also stock designer bars of chocolate (brands: Hammond's and Seattle Chocolate) at the register. I typically don't buy chocolate, mainly due to dietary reasons, but they had such an impressive array---I picked up a Mexican Hot Chocolate bar, made of dark chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, and cayenne pepper. Pickle Papers is one of three places on the ave that my wife and I stop almost every Saturday. The owner (Peggy) is an absolute joy to talk with, and the store has a very respectable selection of cards, papers, notebooks and other writing accoutrements. It is also the best and only supplier for fountain pens and inks in the Wenatchee area, and she has been expanding her selection of pens and inks dramatically in the past year or so! Right now, she caries the entire J. Herbin line of inks, and a quite decent supply of Diamine as well. Also pens ranging from the ~$3 Platinum Preppy up to some quite decent offerings from Pilot and Lamy, and the ever-solid Kaweco Sport series pens. It's most definitely worth a stop when you're in the Wenatchee area! Parking can be a bit of a challenge (as with all stores on the Ave) but...

How have I gone this long without leaving a review?! Pickle Papers has everything you didn't know you needed for any occasion, wonderfully curated by the owner. My favorite store for years! Each card I get from there makes such a statement, you can really tell it's the highest quality. Beautiful ribbon and wrapping paper, fun and thoughtful cards, plus the best assortment of pens and inks in town. Also my go-to place for notebooks, creative little sticky notes and notepads. Fabulous stickers too! Everything I get from there makes for such a unique gift. Peggy and all she employs provide such wonderful service you leave feeling like you made a new friend.
