While still in the parking lot of Best Buy (Geek Squad had terrible service and quoted approximately 2 weeks and close to $400 to ship out my son's nitro 5 gaming laptop and fix the screen due to LCD bleed), I called PC Repair and Networking in West Allis. They said to stop by anytime during open hours. I stopped 20 minutes later and was greeted by a polite, knowledgeable young man. He asked a few basic questions and shared that as they were closing on a Saturday, they would not have an estimate until Monday. Received a call Monday afternoon. Work would take 2 days and cost $185 with labor and tax. Received a call two days later that it was done, confirmed the price and as my work hours ran long, they offered to stay later so I could pick it up. My son LOVES the work they did and my house will be using them exclusively. Thank you also for the recommendations on gaming convention coming up! Read moreI had a laptop with a wonky hard drive. I could get to my desktop but I couldn't open files or programs. I took it into Best Buy's Geek Squad. They told me the hard drive was shot and the only thing that could be done to save my files was to purchase an external hard drive and have the Geek Squad transfer all my files to it. They also strongly recommended that I purchase an annual maintenance plan from them. I did buy the hard drive and had Geek Squad do the transfer at a cost of about $150. I passed on the $200 maintenance program.
But my brother thought I should give the my laptop another try. So he took it to PC Repair and Networking. Am I glad he did! PC Repair put in a new SS HD, reloaded all my files - it's good as new (probably better because it now has a new SSHD. I so wish I would have gone to them in the first place. Read moreI would give negative stars if I could. PC repair took $105 when my mom dropped off her laptop for a cleaning and to update antivirus. They said this would take an hour. After having her computer for a few days, they said something was wrong and they needed more money. They were not able to describe the problem. I went into the store to get the computer and they were sitting around with 2 dogs in the office. They acted like they did not know who we were, then got our computer from a back room. They looked in their computer refusing to acknowledge we already paid them. They refused to refund the money after we explained to them I did not get what I paid for, the antivirus was not updated.
