I don't even know where to start with this review as there is so much I want to say.. The Gage was the most PERFECT place for us to get married at. This was EXACTLY what we wanted and MORE! Ashely and Nina were AMAZING people to work with and we couldn't have asked for more or a better team! Getting married in the middle of a pandemic was probably the hardest thing in the world and these two ladies literally made it the easiest. The Gage was our second venue during this process as we were left with choices due to COVID that we didn't want to make or even be in, in the first place. We were so upset to leave our first venue but it was soooo worth it as we ended up happier here than we would have been! It was not just about the venue itself, but about the staff. They led us through everything. Ashley and Nina literally picked us up and helped us when we felt like we were at wits end with the wedding planning process. They felt like our best friends during this entire thing and only wanted what was best for us. The day of the wedding, they were constantly checking in on us throughout the night and making sure we were happy and had everything we needed. It was as simple as making sure we had enough to drink, to making sure the layout and tables were set exactly how we wanted them. They were so kind! We didn't get to work with Amanda as much, but for the short time we did, she was just as amazing as the other two! I seriously could go on and on as I have nothing but positive things to say! I would recommend this venue to ANYONE as it is exquisite, beautiful, perfect, fantastic, amazinggggg...BUT most importantly because of the staff. From the moment we signed our contract to all the planning leading up and finally the execution of our big day ... it was all so wonderful! The venue itself is so dreamy - the perfect mix of industrial, warm and very "Milwaukee" with the cream city brick and exposed loft. We had both ceremony and reception there and it was so smooth. The initial welcome packet with preferred vendors and online portal for planning is extremely helpful for every single need! The Gage staff is so friendly and just genuinely happy and excited for their couples and you can tell just by their email correspondences back and forth.
It makes complete sense to have the "day of coordination" add on because you will be lost without it (unless you hire an outside wedding planner/coordinator of some kind) but as mentioned above is an ADD ON and costed an additional $1,000. Other add-ons that make sense like the wrap up package (cleaning up at end of the night), coffee bar, string lights and greenery are all added costs to the base price of the venue rental itself which got tacked on 2 weeks prior to wedding day and can be a hefty added cost so close to the wedding day. Well worth it but definitely plan ahead for that kind of stuff!
The photography options for the bridal party. From the feedback I got, most brides/bridal parties stay onsite and did wedding photos in the alley and around the venue but we didn't want our only wedding photos to be the black wall in the alley and 70th St so we did have to find a local park nearby which required more time, money, planning etc so that part sucked but also worth it to have more nature focused...
Read moreMy husband and I had our wedding at The Gage last weekend and it was nothing shy of the best day of our lives. I attribute a lot of the success of our wedding to amazing communication between Olivia and myself prior to our event - she is truly a life savor and communicated with me frequently the months leading up to our wedding, answering all of my questions. We met Jay at our final meeting and he helped us envision what the venue would look like the day of and gave us loads of options of how we wanting lighting and setup. We were assured that the room flip and clean up would be seamless and we were not disappointed. These two are a dynamic due and truly made us feel comfortable and special! I can’t thank them enough for everything they have done for us.
Eve was our morning of staff member that organized the day and accommodated our requests with ease. She was kind and listened as I walked her through what my plans were for the day. The rest of the event staff all lived up to the hype as well, from the bartenders to the night manager really proved that they are the experts!
I highly recommend booking your wedding, or any event here, not just because the space is gorgeous, but because the staff employed here are the best of the best! They make it clear that you are their main focus and that you deserve the best day of your life. They are professionals and know exactly how to execute a flawless day! Everything went perfectly and you will not be disappointed by the outcome.
