5 main points (Main point, just do your Research and it’s harder for these companies to scam you!)
Expensive, and only going up! (Look up new time warner merger to understand) Honestly I use to love spectrum when it was called charter. However now my area is dominated by spectrum, so it’s hard to find affordable internet without researching. I’ve always felt like I’ve been forced into going with spectrum but now the price is $70 for the cheapest internet they offer in my area for people under 65 and I had to find a different company for $50.
Bad WiFi 60% of the time! There cheapest internet is a shared line meaning more people who have the same spectrum cable line and use it make it extremely slow. Lmao 200Mbps was on average 30Mbps and 10Mbps after midnight.
Horrible customer service! There is only one good employee at the west band branch and if you don’t get her then you get horrible service. Just pray that you get in and out if you get the others because they are nightmare material with how rude they get. I literally had 2 different network specialists not related to spectrum come out and figure out why my service was always going slow and randomly disconnects around 2am. Long story short I was told that the system does resets after midnight and that the service I had was a shared network. Just in case I had my coax cord switched out twice and same issues. When I went into the store to try and figure it out they switched out my box and then it had more issues and went slower. Had a guy come out and said it’s running perfectly. Went to complain in the west bend branch and was told it’s the coax cord being faulty. When even bother with trash customer service when paying $70 a month for service they don’t provide.
4.False advertising! They sent out 4 emails for me to upgrade my phone to the newest one and when I go there in person they say that the email was an accident and they won’t be offering an service like that. How can it be an accident when you send the email to customers every 2 weeks!
SCAM!!! I tried to cancel my service in the beginning of the month and they told me that my billing cycle ends in the middle, so I went in the middle and the told me it ends in the beginning. Long story short they made me pay two extra months and increased my service by $5. I asked them why they are such a scam and was told that “time warner merger changed things around here, we even quit prorating in April of this year”
Just make sure you look into what you’re getting and don’t go with an ISP just because they are the only one in the area. Look into satellite internet or other internet service providers(ISP) I never liked AT&T but at least they don’t have shared lines and you get what...
Read moreI Never had a problem with spectrum for the passed two years. In fact, I recommended spectrum Mobil to all of my friends. That was until this past month. My account got messed up and they’re saying I owe them money though I never missed a payment (I provided bank statements). I went into the store and was told to call spectrum Mobil. Costumer service was absolutely no help. I went back into the store and they brought in the manager who said she “credited” the amount off my account but the amount is still there. They cannot tell me where this balance came from. I have never had a problem with spectrum which is why this situation is so stressful. I’ve been going back and forth with them for two weeks with no resolution in sight. I am beyond disappointed by the way this whole situation has been handled. I just want to pay my phone bill and move along. I’m not sure if spectrum updated their system but when I was on the phone with costumer service, I was told that I’m not the only person this is happening to. I don’t know if spectrum is keeping their employees in the dark about what’s happening in their system but it’s an issue that needs to be resolved, Not only for myself but for the other people this is also happening to and for the spectrum employees who have been sitting with me for hours at a time in the store trying to figure out...
Read moreIt's a challenge to review Spectrum. Folks in the store seem to do what they can to help, but Spectrum's approaches, policies, and "solutions" are often poorly planned and executed. Recently had one of their Wi-Fi 6 routers that was covering my entire house extremely well. But when the router lost its 5GHz radio, Spectrum wouldn't/couldn't replace it with another Wi-Fi 6 router. After two tries with their 6e router as their only available replacement, I then chatted with online support and received assurance they could send a Wi-Fi 6 router to me. Then received my third 6e router instead. In the end, my only path forward with signal coverage for my whole house was to buy my own router this time and return theirs. Disappointing result with the equipment and their understanding/approach to my problem with the dramatic reduction in range for the 6e versus the 6. If you change, be forewarned. 6e routers have shorter range and minimal backward compatibility.
And now with my own router to solve that problem, I'm probably better off moving to AT&T Fiber for a faster Internet connection, including mirrored fast upload speeds as well.
Spectrum is just no longer the best at anything they do. Times...
