I have never been to a store that had worse customer service. Even more appalling was the treatment that came from the store's manager, Hadley. The first staff member we dealt with was wonderful and we could tell cared about helping us, but her manager cut her off and basically limited her ability to do her job well.
We later went and asked if they carried any shoes that were in my Husband's size that were NOT extra wide. The manager then stated 'my customers don't buy that size in anything but extra wide'. My husband mentioned that he would buy them if they weren't extra wide and the manager reiterated that her customers don't. Her comments were condescending and made us feel like "her" customers were obviously not us, even though we were the only customers in the store and the ones with the money to buy what they were selling. But we let that go and moved on. Later the manager came by me and my son to let us know they would be closing in 15 minutes. Which was fine but didn't even offer to help, and didn't let us know if we needed more time we could have it to finish shopping, again showing that they didn't care if we bought from their store or not.
Then after my husband tried on about 10 pairs of shoes, he found one he really liked. We didn't plan to get me and my son a pair but we both had found a pair we might have bought as well had they treated us better. My husband knows its best for him not to put the shoes away he tried on because he might not put them back, AND they had already basically told us they wanted us to leave the store, so we headed to the front. We mentioned to the other employee member that we were ready to check out and she said 'ok I'll be right up there'. We waited for a couple minutes and noticed that the manager and other employee were putting away the shoes we had tried on instead of helping us checkout (I get that you want to close, but putting away shoes and cleaning up is something you do after you close and all customers are gone. I have worked in a shoe store before, when customers try to put away more than 1 or 2 shoes they tried on it causes more work because they are often not put in the right place or size order)
At this point, we decided we couldn't in good confidence give this store our money and wanted to let the manager know the consequences of their actions. We will be leaving reviews, making a complaint, and calling whoever is in charge of the manager to let them know that because of the lack of customer service we will never go back, they lost at least 1 sale and potentially 2 more we would have bought for me and my son had we been treated better. DO NOT go to this store if you care about being treated with good customer service. Hadley needs some serious training in customer service and I have no idea how she became a manager. It's possible she just had a bad day but when we talked to her about what had happened she tried to tell us we were wrong, isn't it customer service 101 to not argue with an upset customer, ever. I...
Read moreCompletely the worst kind of service. My wife went to return some Crocs purchased from Crocs.com. on Crocs.com they list all of the Famous Footwear stores as a place to return and or exchange Crocs. My wife was met by a Blonde Girl named Hadley. She was incredibly rude and said "we don't take returns from Crocs.com and pulled out a binder and pointed at something. When my wife tried to show her what the website said, " She said well you're phone is wrong." After calling the Famous Footwear in Sugarhouse and speaking with the store manager she said even though they weren't purchased from Famous Footwear, we could exchange or return them and have the money put back on our Debit card. She also explained to us the Famously Easy return policy. That being said I figured I would personally go into the Famous Footwear in Bountiful and see if I could return or exchange them. Upon entering the store, I walked up to the counter and asked if I could do a return. I too spoke with Hadley, she said I could exchange them or get store credit, but could not have them money returned to my card which was fine. So I browsed the store. As I'm browsing she begins to talk about how she thinks I'm the husband of the lady who tried to return the Crocs from crocs.com a few days earlier and begins to berate my wife and myself while in the store. I took video of the intereraction between her and her colleague. In a world driven by customer service and the ease of purchasing from Amazon and other online retailers, it's no wonder normal department stores keep closing up. Customer service is crucial in this day and age. After reading other reviews on Google it's become obvious this is not a 1 time thing but just how she is. I also wrote a letter to famous footwear Corporate and the CEO. If a District Manager or Zone Manager would like to reach out to me I'd love to share the videos. Otherwise we will not be shopping at Famous...
Read moreHorrible customer service. I went to the Bountiful location today 10 minutes before they closed. I was not going to take long but needed a good pair of walking shoes for an upcoming trip. I was greeted at the door by a young woman twirling the keys to the front door. She said they were closing in 8 minutes and asked me if there was something she could help me find. I felt unwelcome and rushed. At 1 minute before 6:00 she comes back and told me the store is closed and I needed to take my purchase to the counter. I expressed with some aggravation that I was just about to go to the counter. At the counter was another girl, Hadley. I expressed to her that I never felt so unwelcome as a customer. She snapped at me and said we are closed and you are making us stay late. Mind you it was exactly 6:00 when I reached the counter. She began to argue with me and I told her there is no reason to be so rude. She said I didn’t value her time and how would I like it if someone didn’t value my time. She reached over the counter and began pressing the prompts on the card reader as she argued with me. Then threatens me that she can refuse service and not even sell me the shoes! I asked for her name and the other girl’s name so I could report their bad behavior to the owners. She refused to tell me her name and the other girl’s name. I did happen to catch a glance at her name tag (Hadley). It was an awful experience and I don’t think I can even wear the shoes I just bought because it will remind me of the horrible experience every time I wear them. I will not ever shop at this store again. I’ve been a repeat customer at this location for over 15 years. No one should ever have to experience this mistreatment when just wanting to buy...
