I went based on reviews (friendly, quality work, reasonably pricing) but had a pretty negative experience. I had a couple small repairs to make: 1. A broken thin gold chain, 2. A bracelet clasp in need of repair. Bracelet first: The guy almost just tightened the clasp with tweezers (as if I hadn’t thought of that) but I’m glad that due to my hesitation in accepting that as resolution we opted to add a 2nd symmetrical figure 8 hook (or whatever) because the original clasp still doesn’t hold but the new one resolves the problem. Now, the chain: It came back with far more/larger kinks than before. They were visible immediately and from a distance but the woman said it happens with delicate chains during repair. Ok, fine. I kid you not, it somehow tore within 6 hrs of light wear at the office. I called the day after (only 2-3 days after pick up) politely requesting a refund being that if the chain could not be fixed I wouldn’t have paid to have it fixed. They told me I could bring it back in since if it tore in same spot they’d warranty their work. Clearly this chain is/was weaker than ever so if it didn’t work the first time why would I waste more of my time on top of the wasted repair expense to try again with a lower chance of success? Further, what if it wasn’t in the same spot, because they (hypothetically) broke it in another one, and are thus actually responsible? They refused to refund me a stupid $25. West Essex Jewelers earns above and beyond five stars! A year ago, I was left feeling disappointed and distrustful after a bad experience with an engagement ring re-setting done by another jeweler. While I was nervous to go through the process again, the setting needed to be corrected. I immediately felt comfortable with Joe, the owner. While my intention was to properly set the setting I had, I inquired about the cost of adding side stones as that was truly the setting I had always wished for. Joe knew exactly what I wanted and modeled my ring after his wife’s ring! He was super patient and brought in different side stones until I was satisfied. Joe never tried to push the sale. He is upfront and honest, and truly wanted me to be happy. Ecstatic was what I was with the end result and still smile each time I look down at my finger. The entire staff at West Essex Jewelers are helpful, warm and welcoming. A huge thank you to all of them. I will be back for all my jewelry needs...

I highly recommend this jewelry store. Great selection and the customer service is fantastic! They are very personable, professional, and friendly. You can tell they really want to keep customers happy.

My fiancé and I went here while shopping around for an eternity wedding band to complement my engagement ring. We found a 1/2 diamond eternity band that was perfect for my engagement ring. However after purchasing the ring, I was disappointed it wasn’t a full eternity band. I went back and explained and I received great customer service. They offered to exchange the ring for the same style full diamond eternity band. We paid the difference for the extra diamonds. When I picked up the new ring, I was so happy and it’s absolutely gorgeous and perfect!!!

I’m even more thankful that they were able to work with me to ultimately get exactly what I wanted! I Highly recommend West...
