Asian Delite — Restaurant in West Caldwell

I placed a large order from here using their online ordering in July. I paid for delivery and paid a tip for the driver. I ordered ahead for a virtual dinner with friends. The food hadn’t come in 45 minutes so I called and was told it would come soon. 20 minutes later I called and was told the delivery person was lost. I had to leave in the middle of our virtual dinner and go pick up our food. I tried again on September 6. I went in to order this time to avoid a problem. We ordered General Tso’s chicken, not spicy, with egg roll, and pork fried rice. When we paid the guy repeated our order to us correctly. We took our food home and the chicken was NOT without spice. It was very spicy. We called and after arguing with the guy he agrees to send us our correct order. This time it was not spicy however the chicken was so tough and dry it was awful. We ate it anyway because by this time we were starving. I have eaten here for years and was a good customer. In fact I gave them a good review on another site in the past. Well, now they have lost a good customer. I will not be ordering from them again. They are so much more expensive than other Chinese Restaurants in the Caldwells anyway. I have probably had take out from Asian Delite more than 100 times over the past 15 years. I’ve dined in perhaps 25 times over the same time. I dined there tonight and am sorry to say that the food was not quite as good as usual, the atmosphere was reduced and the service was definitely sub-par. The fried noodles for mustard and sweet sauce dipping and adding to soup are normally fresh, warm, and very large. Today they were tiny pieces of crumbs which I would almost swear were the dregs of portions removed from other tables after patrons eating them had left. There were flies buzzing around our table. And the waiter and busboy tending to our table seemed to want to be somewhere else. It took numerous requests to get condiments, napkins, more noodle crumbs, almost everything. I have absolutely no idea why this place has a 4.3 on google. I went to this restaurant last weekend, and believe me when I say it that my experience was horrendous.

The sushi I ordered smelled and tasted extremely bad - I almost threw up. I have had sushi my whole life and I know what good sushi tastes like, but this wasn't good at all. If you are thinking of going there for sushi - JUST DON'T.

Half the things on the menu weren't available, and our server seemed like he wanted to be anywhere but there. He walked off multiple times while we were talking to order, or even when we later asked for some salt and hot sauce.

Overall, the food was 1/5. The hosting experience was also 1/5.
