For some reason, they almost never have brown paper bags available to put the groceries in. I am a store-shopper and grocery-deliverer for people in the area.
When I come here often, I notice that some of the employees donāt seem to care about their job too much, you can tell, because they donāt like helping customers. Some of them even leave piles of boxes in the aisles in very inconsiderate places so the customers have trouble going by or getting to certain things. These people are hardly self aware. Their jobs are already easy enough, yet they act like they hate being there. Maybe they should do something they enjoy instead so they donāt look so miserable. ALDI letās their employees sit in chairs at the register, and besides that, customers are encouraged to use self-checkout. It takes minimal work to put out products that stay in their own shipping boxes, on the shelves. I havenāt once had a good experience with any of the employees, in fact, the opposite. It was disappointing when my sweatshirt fell out of the cart here before and it was nowhere to be found, so someone mustāve stole it because I asked on multiple occasions if it was in the lost and found, but no. One of the employees told me that āALDI isnāt giving us paper bags anymore for the customers to purchase because people donāt pay for themā. That seems made-up or just nonsense because theyāre a multi-billion dollar industry. š Whoās not doing their job and providing the store with bags? We want...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA bit of Germany in West Chester! Back in summer 1979 when I lived in Germany, shoppers were already saving money by bringing their own "Tutte" or shopping bags. It took decades to catch on in the states. And now Germany's no frills shopping experience is here. Aldi is not a "supermarket" as in Giant, Acme or Wegmans. It's a food market. Food items (most often the Aldi brand) are often displayed in the boxes they came in. (No frills). And there doesn't seem to be the large selection or variety of fresh meat and seafood one finds in area supermarkets. The first time you go, give yourself time to discover the specialties and get to know the store. I'm spoiled, so I think I'll stay at the Giant for now - the German model takes some...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was excited about the West Chester grand opening. When I got there, the line of people was already stretched across the parking lot and no available parking spots. I'm happy the grand opening went well for them. I missed out but went back an hour later. The store is nice and the prices are very good. The only problem was the container of strawberries that I bought was mostly mushy and moldy. I should have checked them but I expected them to be pretty fresh on opening day. I wish I could return them but my receipt blew away when I...
