Big Y — Local services in West Springfield

Everytime I go in there the employees are rude to me. Both incidents happened at the self check out, first time happened about 5 months ago. I was with my mother and I guess the employee felt we weren't scanning fast enough, there was no line or anyone waiting to use the register. So he comes over doesn't say a word to us and then proceeds to take the scanner and just start scanning everything in our cart and looks like he's annoyed while he's doing it. Made us feel like he was rushing us to get tf out. Second incident happened today 8/18. I was at the self check out scanning my items. Being 9 months pregnant with a cart full of items, some heavy at that, I thought I would take it easy on myself and just scan the items right in the cart which I do at other stores and never had an issue before. The employee comes towards me, (again everyone who works there seem to be annoyed to be there) he rudely tells me that I have to take everything out of my cart when I scan it, he does not offer any help just tells me to take everything out and walks away. I don't expect anyone to offer me help just because I'm pregnant, but it would've been nice to atleast offer to help me out. He then proceeds to help an older woman at the register next to me with the 5 items she had in her cart, scans it for her and also bags it for her. By the time I finished and went to my car I felt intense pressure on my pelvis and lower back pain that I had to take a moment and rest before driving off. So unless you're an elderly white woman they won't be nice to you or try...

This is a great bigY. I'll start with the good (and the bad isn't really bad) They have Sweet Potato Fries, the big 'party size' only $4.99! And they are So good I highly recommend. Bigy also makes amazing pizza. Slices are very big. Whole pie is very big. My only complaint is, they keep @3 pizzas out ,for slices. They have the 'flavor of day' pizza. However, nowhere in the slices or flav of day is a veggie pie. The only way to get that is to pay @$20 for whole take home pizza. It is very delish but ,it'd be nice to just get 2 slices of veggie. The veggies are fresh and big ,it's a shame. I may be vegetarian, but prior to that, and including other ppl I know who eat meat, we all love the veggie pizza! I just think it's odd that 7days week ,thyrs never a fresh made veggie for slices or even a veggie pie as flav of day. Just a suggestion. Also ,while the store is big. And very clean. They recently redid everything, and it's great. But the bathroom is as it alwzz was, 1 single toilet. Cleanliness isn't as good these days. With only 1 toilet it should be clean. All that said. The employees are 99.999% extremely nice and helpful. Very patient with me i can be 'particular' The bakery has some of the best pastries from any other bigY iv been in. Bakery employees are the best too....

Concerns Regarding Big Y West Springfield Bakery!

I am writing to express my significant disappointment with the bakery department at the Big Y West Springfield location. While I generally appreciate Big Y's fresh bakery offerings, which often lead me to choose your stores despite higher overall prices, the West Springfield bakery consistently falls short of the standards I experience at other Big Y locations. Specifically, I have observed a persistent lack of popular bakery items at the West Springfield store. It appears this location frequently runs out of desired products early in the day and does not replenish them, a stark contrast to my experiences at other Big Y bakeries. Furthermore, the selection of in-store baked doughnuts is consistently minimal and often appears unappealing, and the cookie variety is notably limited compared to other Big Y stores. These consistent shortcomings have led to repeated instances where I leave the West Springfield Big Y empty-handed, unable to purchase the bakery items I seek. This has been a recurring issue, and I hope this feedback will prompt a review of the West Springfield bakery's operations to ensure it aligns with the quality and availability found at other Big...
