I have eaten a lot of lamb kebabs in my life, and I can confidently say that Ahalna Foods made me the best lamb kebab platter I have ever eaten on the west side of the Connecticut River. Everything is made fresh, and it tastes fresh. The Saffron Rice is extremely flavorful and soft, the lamb is well-seasoned and cooked expertly, and the fire-roasted onion and tomato were beautifully charred. They give you a lot of food for a very reasonable price.
The service is friendly, and you can tell the owner takes pride in what he does. It’s important to know that this is not fast-food like McDonald’s, despite the takeout window you place your order from. I am thankful that it is not fast food either - wait times are very respectable if you understand that you are at Ahalna for the excellent preparation of the food.
The atmosphere is nothing fancy, but it is clean and respectable. There is no indoor eating space, but there are picnic tables outside (takeout is probably the way to go at this spot). This is a no-frills local eatery, not a fine-dining establishment. If you want interior decorating and white linen table cloths, go somewhere else - just know that you’ll be missing out on some...
Read moreIn an area located where middle eastern food is on every corner of west Springfield this place is top of the competition by far. They are a walk up window of husband and wife who are super friendly when you get to the window. Their menu consist of sandwiches but the biggest and most flavorful around. The beef shawarma can come on grinder or pita but I advise you get the pita as it comes grilled to perfection! Inside the beef schwarma are tasty onions and they're special garlic mayo. It's loaded up and over a foot long. One will definitely fill you up but I always get two because 1. They're only 10$ each and 2. They're so filled with flavor and deliciousness that when you get done no matter how full you are you just can't resist but to savor more of that flavor in your mouth. I'm not joking people everyone must try this place at some point. 5/5 stars for what's offered. Limited menu but they have the most popular items and they are all special in their own way. Promise you won't be...

The food? Absolutely delicious. Every dish is made with care, and you can taste the tradition in every bite. My personal favorite is the shawarma—perfectly seasoned, tender, and wrapped up in a way that makes you want to order seconds before you're even halfway through the first. But don’t stop there—their other plates are just as delightful. Whether it's grilled meats, fresh salads, or savory sides, everything is bursting with flavor.
Ahalna Foods isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a reminder of how good food and good people make life better. Highly recommend stopping by and supporting this wonderful local...
