We had a very bad experience with the Exton La-ZBoy store. We ordered a custom chair in December, 2020. The chair was delivered to my home on March 17, 2021 and found to be defective. It was clear that there was a problem with the motor based on the sound and the fact that the chair would shimmy and shake when the buttons were pressed. Delivery team immediately apologized and said that they would take it back to the warehouse.
We never heard from anyone at the store afterward. I called the store the day after delivery and was told that someone would get back to me with information on what how they would handle the situation. I called again 2 days later and a man who identified himself as the manager, confirmed the same thing. He promised to check into it and get back to me.
I called the store again 8 days later and a very nice woman advised that she would have the sales woman call me the next day. The saleswoman called and advised that she was actually the store manager. She further advised that she not aware of any problem with the chair, and said that she would look into it and call me the next day.
She did call on March 29th, but rather than starting with an apology, she said that she spent the whole morning working on the problem. She then went on to say that the good news was that she would order a new chair and there will be no additional cost to me. She said that the other good news is that we would not have to wait 6 months for it. She said that I would only have to wait 3 to 4 months.
Wow, Isn’t that great news? They won’t charge us additional money for a replacement chair! She advised that the chair had a defective cage around the motor, hence the motor was damaged.
Think about what the sales woman said. It is good news that I don’t have to pay additional money? . La-Z-Boy required full payment in excess of $1,400 prior to the March 17th delivery. Now they have the full payment and I have no idea when I will see my chair, And the only accommodation is that they will try to get a chair to me in another 3 to 4 months.
No offer to return 50% of the money while we wait the 3 to 4 months. No apology, but instead, she tells me it is really good news that we don’t have to wait another 6 months for a chair. And she said the other good news was that the chair will be inspected three times since the first one was defective.
The sad news is that we liked the chair so much that we had considered ordering a second one to match. Not only has La-Z-Boy lost this future customer, but now others will see...
Read moreCompletely Dishonest. My husband and I went in looking for a recliner. We have several cats either urinary problems and had had to get rid of several pieces of furniture they had peed on. The sales lady told us that the La-z-boy fabric protection would protect against that. She said if one peed on it or we spilled a drink it would just bead up and be able to be wiped off and would not soak in. She convinced us we could pick any fabric and color we wanted and offered us financing. We decided to go for it and got approved but then she rang us up and said we had to pay half upfront because we chose a different fabric! We were set to cancel and leave but the manager found one in stock in a darker fabric. We decided ok and got that one. Several months later one of the cats peed on the couch and it soaked right in....we couldn't get the stain or smell out. We called the store and the fabric protection place but no one called us back.....for over a month. I evwbruslly complained on the lazboy Facebook page. Two days the store told us the fabric protection isn't waterproof and doesn't cover smells (NOT what we were told initially) but they'd help us and get us a new cushion. Well they never ordered it!!!! Manager said he'd get right on and call me in 2 days.....he never did of course. It took me reaching out to La-z-boy social media AGAIN and now our cushion is ordered for us. Read moreWe visited the La-z-Boy store in Exton and were very pleased with the very nice store and meeting Sharina the in store manager. Sharina is very knowledgeable with everything La-z- Boy has to offer , we were interested in an electric reclining sofa and loveseat she showed us everything and also recommended carpet and paintings . We had no idea what colors would go good in our new family room so she set us up with one of their in house designers Abbie who we made an appointment with to come out to our home with samples and fabrics. Abbie was great she spent time with us and helped us pick out the perfect fabric that would go on our new sofa and love seat that matched perfectly in our family room. Abbie was so good she set us up with a beautiful painting and area carpet that brought the whole room together we couldn’t be happier with our new family room with all the help we received from both Sharina and Abbie, we will definitely be recommending La-z-boy to our family and friends they did an excellent job taking the time and effort in helping us set up a beautiful family room.
