Hannaford — Local services in Westbrook

It was good enough. I popped in to grab a vegetable salad.

I am fairly irritated that the salad dressing doesn't come free with. That's a huge chunk of B.S. because it is Part Of The Dang Salad!

The staff were pleasant enough and pointed me in the direction of what I was asking for. Not entirely sure why they didn't walk me to the item like was customary in the past. I ended finding what I needed and wanted on my own. After all, it's not like I'm disabled or something... oh wait... I am disabled. Well then.

It was fairly basic service and it seems to be the norm, even prior to the covid-19 pandemic, so I guess that it is good that service hasn't worsened. I don't usually shop at this store because this is the typical "MEH" quality of service that is provided at this store. I'm not sure what that is all about, but employers are slacking off on training and appropriate supervision. I remember when I worked for "Shop and Save", before the rebranding occurred, and we were trained adequately for our jobs, we were sent to a Dale Carnegie Center for additional training and there was always a supervisor lurking nearby to make sure that if you had time to stand around chatting that you were doing various cleaning chore. Ironically that is 100 fold more important today than it was back then. Oh how the times have changed... Sunday November 6, 2022 Hannaford really needs to step up their game if they want to outlast their competition. Having a limited selection all at higher prices is not a good business model. On top of that it seems that the days of fast friendly service have been thrown in the dumpster along with paying cashiers to work instead of installing self-checkout registers. It's wonderful that you are saving so much money on payroll without passing on any of those savings to the customer and while charging ridiculously overinflated prices for the merchandise that you do carry. Maybe I will have to check out...

Been coming here at least twice a week since May and the addition of the kitchen / stir fry section. Every single time their stir fry is never open, advertised hours are M-F 11-7 Sat & Sun 11-6. If you've never had hannaford stir fry, let me tell you.. it's awesome and wrecks anything the local china shop makes. Only once have I actually been able to get stir fry here and at-first I gave the benefit of the doubt. I assumed it just wasn't quite ready to open or start, but on a whim last Friday at like 1pm an older lady was doing stir fry, of course I had some. Yet, once again today closed and it's 11:30. If you can't stick to your advertised hours at least have the decency to put a sign up. All this money spent to renovate and upgrade to a full-blown hannaford location, and then watching, as a consumer, 5 employees always around the kitchen, yet the kitchen to-go bins are mostly bare and always the same boring mashed potatoes, pulled pork, and stomach-churning teriyaki rice chicken (seriously, rotate and change it up none of it tastes good), and no one can man the stir fry despite standing around like they don't know what their task is, is...

This is my favorite Hannaford store to shop at. I can walk there in 15 minutes, and back home in 15-20 minutes, as long as I don't weigh myself down by all of the groceries I get. I go in to buy a few things, and I always get far more than I intended. 😂 I don't feel like I'm being watched, constantly, as in other stores. I'm not a theif and it kills me when people do that. The staff are always friendly and if I can't find something, they will bring me right to it. The cashiers have always been friendly. The produce is always good looking, and the steak tips in the butchery, are always AMAZING!!! I know the layout of this particular Hannaford store. Some Hannaford's have a completely different layout. So, that's helpful for me. And, when I lost my receipt for the wrong cat food that I bought, one of the manager's was completely wonderful about it. He allowed me to go get the correct cat food, and they just exchanged the correct kind for the incorrect cat food I hadn't opened the wrong cat food bag, so that was a plus. I LOVE THIS...
