When you work in food service, you need to be attentive to certain allergies or religious/philosophical preferences that people have with food. If I order a bagel and ask for veggie tofu cream cheese, and hear you repeat it back to me, I expect to bite into veggie tofu cream cheese, not dairy cow cream cheese. I had never had a problem until this morning, but, it only takes one time for me to be permanently upset. Until today I would have given this place 5 stars, but I can no longer. Not only am I vegan, but I am lactose intolerant. People are most apt to write a review when they are upset. And, yes, I am upset. Very nice people, but simply put these are not what I would call good quality Bagels. having just moved to the greater Portland area, I have found amazing Cuisine of every type, but I'm still on the hunt for a truly good bagel. went there this morning for the second time to give it one more shot, and although it's jam-packed in there and many seem to enjoy it, it may just be that there's not enough good places up here to know what a great bagel should really be. on a side note, I added a little tiny bit of mayo and sliced tomato to my breakfast sandwich and that seem to add a dollar to the cost. Not sure why they would charge me the same amount for a tiny bit of mayo as they would for tomato, but that seems unreasonable...

My bagel was hard as a brick at 9am. How is that even possible?

More importantly, the training is nonexistent. Asked about one of the bagels. Girl had no clue. Had to ask someone else that wasn't too sure. I asked about a danish. She thought it was cheese. OK not helpful, what type of scone is that? The answer blew me away: "I don't know, we've been debating that?"

How is that even possible? Does an unknown person drop this stuff off under the cover of darkness? I don't see any other explanation because I'm sure you know who is in charge and you would have the ability to communicate with this person. There's literally no need to "debate". Obviously no one is training...
