Customer service while returning items today left a lot to be desired. One worker (blonde hair) that is there all the time when I return items was working by herself when I came in, with about 5 people in line. She is a talker and makes comments about everything. She worked through 3 people, the whole time, asking other workers walking by if certain other coworkers were there. The person in front of me was up next, and the blonde lady decided to start putting items away in back room, while we stood and waited and the line for longer behind me. No explanation to us, only saying it out loud to other workers. Another older woman (gray hair), finally came up to work at return desk (I believe her shift just started). Very slow moving watching her walk to counter. From the moment she got there, all she did was complain about her job and how she would get in trouble if she didn't do such and such. The lady in front of me was returning a weighted blanket, the gray haired worker said she didn't know if the lady could return it because she herself might not be able to lift it over the counter! For my return, for an online order, I gave her the packing slip, but she made me dig out my Kohls card to put in reader, because she said it was easier for her than dealing with the packing slip. At one point, someone paged a manager to jewelry dept for customer assistance. The blonde worker said loudly, I don't know what that lady doesn't understand, we can't take her payment. All of it was just very unprofessional and rude. The checkout line in this store is always backed up, but today it actually moved quickly. Got to checkout, she rang out everything, and accidentally took 30% off twice, and didn't catch it until I had just finalized payment with credit card. She had to call manager. Manager had to void it and return payment, then the lady had to do it all again. Cashier was nice and apologetic, manager did not say one word to me, only talked to cashier like I wasn't even there. I realize it's 2 weeks til Christmas, but the workers in this store just never seem happy and most...
Read moreI've always had great experiences at Kohl's until today. I received two broken ceramic items in my online order. When I went to return them, the customer service associate (a short, older, white woman) was awful. She was unprofessional and rude, aggressively throwing ceramic items into a box on the counter in front of me.
She was frowning when I arrived, but I still smiled and asked how she was doing. When I explained my situation and showed her the broken items in the shipping box, she looked annoyed and rolled her eyes.
I said the items were on my Kohl’s Card and presented my card to look up the items. She acted like I was the dumbest person alive and said she needed an order slip or receipt. I told her the order didn’t come with one and asked if we could look up the items on my card. She said it wasn’t possible.
I was genuinely confused and asked one more time. She got more annoyed and told me I needed to give her the order number. I logged into my account and gave her the number, even though I’ve been making returns using my Kohl’s card since I got it well over 15 years ago.
Once she started the return, she seemed deeply annoyed the entire time even though I was still being nice. After she scanned each broken item, she aggressively threw them back in the box I brought them in. The box was on the counter in front of my face and I started to worry that the broken shards would hit me.
I was relieved when the awful encounter was over. After browsing the store for a little bit, I went back to the front to leave. The rude customer service associate was talking about me and our encounter very loudly with someone at the main registers.
I was never rude, mean, or aggressive throughout our encounter. I even thanked her at the end, even though she did not deserve it. This woman should not be working with customers and I hope no one else has to...
Read moreThis place is ridiculous. I know it’s not all the individual stores fault but the service here is absolutely awful. I went in two weeks ago to buy a coat because I had a birthday reward and percent off coupon. I found a coat after looking through the disorganized aisles for an hour. After I finally picked one, I took to the desk and discovered there was no tag on it—so they just looked up the price and I was charged $99. That was fine. But I asked the lady who checked me out if I’d be able to return it if I didn’t like it—because I know how Womens coats are, especially here and they tend to be super uncomfortable. She said the fact I did not have a tag would be no problem and I could exchange it for another one. once I sat down in it I realized how uncomfortable it was and knew I had to take it back. I went in the first time to try and exchange it and they said I needed a coat that was the equal price of $180 for an exact exchange (the price before sale(. Which would have been fine except they literally didn’t have any coats of that price anymore. I ran out of time and just gave up and came back a third time to find a coat where I found a coat that was $150 (before sale). Let me add here that it IS the same price (99) after the sale. They wouldn’t let me exchange—okay fine. But then they wouldn’t let me return the coat and apply all the discounts/birthday gift/Kohl’s cash and percent off I had before... despite it being a cheaper darn coat. The total ended up being over $20 for a CHEAPER COAT. I wasted so many hours of my life trying to return this coat and find another coat and now I give up. I will never ever shop here again. It’s absolutely ridiculous I can’t get a CHEAPER coat in exchange/return for a more...
