A must go to kind of company! My family has used S and R Carpet for several years. They always dealt with Paul but I recently built a new home and I dealt mostly with Steve. Steve was phenomenal! I went in to meet with Steve several times, my wife came with me once to make the final decisions, and he was always extremely helpful. Steve would talk with us through every inch of the house and help us plan what we wanted to do, giving us samples along the way to take home and compare. He would propose several great ideas over the coarse of the project. I went to 5 different companies including wood flooring, tile and carpet installers only to find S and R's price was the same if not better than everyone else, even for the whole package (wood, carpet, tile). Couldn't be happier that we stuck with S and R. The workmanship of their subs and dedication of Steve was outstanding. The job site was always left clean and Steve was pickier than I was. Steve made sure the best work was done in our home no matter what. Steve even called me a few times after the project was over to make sure everything was still good and if I was having any issues. The service they offer is incredible. I also want to make note that during the phase of picking out the tile Steve and Paul were unbelievable. I had made a mistake and not only did Steve and Paul work with me, but they took on the entire mistake themselves and fixed it. Changing out the flooring was the first big renovation project as first time home buyers. My father was a master plumber and carpenter and while I didn’t pick up the tradesman-ship I do work in the construction field. S&R absolutely delivered on my expectations and the installation was meticulously measured out. First photo speaks for itself, perfect example of quality craftsmanship. Nick and Paul ensured the wood planks were centered in every room. I was super nervous about this, but they understood the right thing to do. The perimeter planks were all trimmed and snug under every baseboard. No wavy gaps and the floor feels pretty uniformly level, given the concrete subfloor is slanted, still no air pockets or creaking. Another thing I was impressed with was the arrangement of the planks in the kitchen. It’s a narrow galley kitchen and the old wood planks were going the long way so we just wanted to make sure the pattern of the planks felt balanced. Pic 5 shows that detail. I called several local (and semi local) carpeting installation businesses, and Steve's responsiveness, professionalism, and rates were the best by far. Steve was able to schedule a carpet replacement for two rooms of our new home within a week or two of my reaching out. Other businesses I reached out to quote me nearly 1.5x the rate Steve gave, and they were slower to respond. I appreciated that when one of the S&R employees came out to get measurements for the carpet, he had samples on hand with him of the carpet I wanted to install, saving me an hour long round trip out to the store. The carpet looks and feels fabulous! I'm glad we went with the higher grade carpet pad. Steve also explained that even with cleaning, an old carpet on an old carpet pad still contains plenty of stored allergens, so someone like me with severe mold allergies would be better with a hypoallergenic option.
